    Gurgling stomach

I am five months out and my stomach lets me know everything I eat by making a noise. I asked my doc and he said it is normal. I often think others can hear it, but I am sure it is just my imagination thinking it is that loud

    May sleevers

I was 389 at my first office visit. Lost 25 pounds pre surgery. I was sleeved on May 6th. I am now down to 274 for a total lost since the beginning of my journey of 115 pounds!

    Does anyone regret it?

@1Day1Life4Now Yes, I have tried Reglan, that is one of the medinces I am currently on along with Zofran, and Levsin. I tried Carafate as well, but that didnt seem to help.

    Does anyone regret it?

@@blondebomb My surgeon(s), both of them, are very well aware of my situation. They have prescribed several different anti nausea pills, GERD pills, anti spasmodic pills. The only one that seems to work recently has been the antispasmodic pill, but it makes me really tired. I have had an upper GI as well as an endoscopy, all before my three months were even up. All tests come back positive showing nothing wrong, which is quite frustrating as well. I almost wish they would find something to prove I am not crazy.

    Does anyone regret it?

Thanks Cowgirl Jane for your support and words of wisdom. I have my surgeon(s), a gastroenterologist and the NUT all on top of my case checking in all the time. I have them all baffled. I just pray for an end in sight. I want no regrets, but I can't say that right now. But with my friends here, I know anything is possible. Thanks for being one of them!

    Nausea

I am three months out and have extreme nausea still. I can't get in my required Protein or liquids due to nausea.

    Drinking during meals

I have major issues not drinking during meals. I find it almost impossible to not drink during a meal. But when I do drink during a meal, I find I can't eat as much and sometimes it even causes pain.

    Does anyone regret it?

My situation is a little bit different. I am almost three months out (sleeved 5/6/14) and have been nauseous ever since. Barely eat any food and have trouble getting in my liquid requirement, everything makes me sick. I regret my decision 1 million percent due to circumstances. I am losing weight rapidly, but being sick all the time, really can't enjoy my new found weight loss. This has resulted in depression and major body fatigue as well. So, like I said, I am not typical by any means, but given the choice, knowing what I know now, I would never EVER do it again.

    Nausea & Vomiting

I totally regret having this surgery based on my nausea and ill feelings daily. What kind of motion sickness pills did you take and do they make you sleepy?

Where are all my May Sleevers?

I was sleeved on may 6th and and nauseous to this day! Unbearable some days. Doctor's say I am an unusual case being nauseous for so long, but I am seeing on here that I am not the only one. I am down 42 pounds since the surgery. Hardly ever hungry and just eat because I have too, often regretting it, because I end up feeling sick afterwards. I am on Zofran, Prevacid and Reglan, none really seem to get rid of the nausea. Getting depressed, regretting having the surgery done.

    Nausea & Vomiting

I am 2 months out and experience nausea on a daily basis and it drives me nuts. I am on Zofran and Reglan for the nausea in addition to Prevacid, nothing really seems to work. I might have to try the motion sickness tablets.....thanks for the suggestion.
  12. The doctor changed my GERD medicine from omerprazole to Prevacid, and that has helped ease the nausea some. I am also on Zofran and Reglan. Combined they are working to get rid of the nausea as it is not as bad as it was, but it is still there and frustrating. I am down 33 pounds since May6th and 58 pounds counting the preop diet.
  13. I was sleeved on May 6th and really had virtually no post op pain. I was up and walking almost right out of recovery. My problem is nausea, I just can't get rid of the nausea. Nothing helps. Having trouble getting in all my liquids and my Protein too. It is just a lot to handle all at once. I was down 13 pounds my first week, and I have not weighed myself since. Anyone else having the nausea issues?
  14. I am still having nausea and I am 12 days out. Nothing I eat really makes me feel better. Is this normal?
  15. I am a newbie to this site, and I have to say it has helped a lot with my emotions. But now I feel the need to share. I am scheduled for surgery on 5/6/14 at Noon. I am on day three of the pre-op diet and it is going OK. Getting food headaches today, but I know they will pass. I am having a constant struggle with my nerves and I keep going back and forth trying to decide if I am doing the right thing. I worry I will miss food too much post surgery and will fall into a deep depression. I enjoy food, obviously, that is how I got this way, and I worry once I can't have a lot of food anymore, that I will find myself not being able to enjoy food. When I go to Altantic City, I enjoy going to the buffets. On vacations I enjoy good food. I worry with the sleeve I won't be able to enjoy that kind of stuff anymore. I know they are small silly worries, but they make me change my mind on almost a daily basis. I think ,should I have the band, since it is reversable? Having 85% of my stomach removed seems so drastic. I made this decision on my own, but I keep doubting myself. Can anyone help give me some peace? Kelly in NJ
  16. Well, I am two days post op. Still swollen and mild pain, but doing much better. Having a hell of a time getting in my liquids and Protein as I am just not hungry. Plus I have been drinking too fast and causing pain. How is everyone else doing?

    May 6th sleeve

Did we all survive? I went in for surgery Tuesday afternoon and was released from the hosptial Wednesday at 245. Just really sore and still a bit nauseous. Drank some Ensure Plus today to get in some liquids and some Protein too! How is everyone else doing?
  18. Thanks Butterfly.....glad to know I am not alone. I really just want Tuesday over and done with so I can start the baby steps to my new life. Best of luck everyone! Kelly in NJ

    May 6th sleeve

I am being sleeved on May 6th as well here in NJ. Best of luck!!
  21. I have my Premier Protein shakes, although I heard the first couple of days or so, they might be too thick, so might need to thin them out. I also have packets of nectar protein that I can make as shakes/drinks. My doctor didn't say anything about lactose free, although your doctor might be looking out for gas issues, as lactose can cause extra gas.
  22. Good Morning fellow May 6'ers....Hoping week 2 of your liquid diet is going well. Just over a week to go.........Can't say I am still not having second thoughts, but I am hoping all will work itself out this week. Just want the surgery over with so I can start the post-op diet, which I have a feeling is going to be harder than the pre-op diet. I have all my paperwork, and just find it so overwhelming. I hope once I have the surgery and have to start, all will make sense. Be well my new friends and be sure to keep in touch. Kelly
  23. Looks like there are a bunch of having the sleeve done on the same day. Good luck to us all, and thanks everyone for the good advice. I already feel like we are all family. Lets all keep in touch and updated on our progress good and bad! I think it would be awesome!
  24. Thanks ad1203 and best of luck with your surgery. Nice to know someone who is haivng it the same day as I. We can be scared together! I know we can do this, and having each other's support makes it a tiny bit easier.
