Wow! Reading through this post has been so helpful. I just had my surgery (sleeve) 5 days ago and I'm grateful for the information and experiences you all have shared. Like Escape_Pod I have always struggled with sugar. For me it is an addictive drug and having a little just makes me want more. I believe to be successful I will have to completely cut it out.

I am scheduled to have surgery on March 9th and I am a little worried about my surgeon telling me I shouldn't lift anything over 10 pounds for 6 weeks. My two year old is definitely not going to make that easy. Any advice from moms out there? Was lifting things after surgery really much of an issue? 6 weeks seems a little long... Other than this concern I'm incredibly excited about this journey! I'm on day 3 of my pre-op diet and knowing what I'm preparing for has made it easier to stick with. Thanks for any input.
