Hi All!
Being overweight has been a lifelong struggle for me. I am now 41 and have a 2 year old and 11 year old sons. Last fall I decided I was finished with trying and failing and feeling hopeless about my weight and health. Despite my weight I've been a pretty active person and I enjoy swimming and bike riding with my family, but my knees were beginning to hurt and physical activity was feeling more difficult. After having my second son I could not get the weight off and in fact it has been slowly creeping up. I want to live a long time and enjoy doing things with my husband and boys. So, I began investigating WLS and decided that the gastric sleeve would be the right thing for me.
Today is the 4th day of my pre-op diet and I'm feeling really good, after a rough first couple of days.
My surgery is on March 9th. I'm excited and optimistic about a fun summer with my family and a new healthy lifestyle. I can already see that my pre-op diet is having a positive impact on the eating habits of my family, so I'm optimistic that this will be a great change for all of us.
Looking forward to connecting with some of you out there and following your journeys and I begin mine.
