Good Luck to all you June Bandsters. I'm scheduled for June 28th. YEAH

Bummer, I won't be banded by then. I was supposed to be banded the last week in June and I just got called for jury duty on the 29th. I'm sure I won't get picked to sit on a jury since I'm still taking care of my daughter who was in the bad auto accident. I guess I could still come and meet ya'll.

HI, I have Federal employee BC/BS and they will not pay for the lap band. I've called three times over the past six months and always get the same answer. They consider this a temporary fix, however if I wanted by-pass surgery, they would pay for it. I'm taking a loan from my retirement plan.

Anyone wear a medical id bracelet?

on May 17 my 19 yr old daughter was in a very bad auto accident and had to be airlifted to the Trauma I hospital. Her wallet did not go with her in the helicopter, we had to pick it up from the police station. I'm definately going to order a tag. By the way she is going to be fine, well after a long recovery. She broke her pelvis in 6 places and has scapes and bruises all over. We go back to the hospital tomorrow for her first follow-up visit and more x-rays. I'm hoping this doesn't delay my lapband date at the end of June. -

June Date: Yes, I'm tentatively scheduled the last week in June. I have to call the Dr's office the first week of June to hopefully get a firm date. I get back from vacation on June 14th and that's when I'll start my pre-op diet.

HI, I'm in Allen, TX and would be interested in getting together. I'm not getting banded until the end of June though. Has anyone used Dr. Anderson? He does bands at Dallas Presby and Richardson Surgery Center.

Has anyone been banded in the US that has paid for it out of pocket?

HI, I live in Dallas and I'm a self pay. I'm going to the Surgery Center of Richardson, several doctors do surgery there. The Surgery Center charges $15,000. I'm using Dr. Anderson. and he includes fills for one as part of the $15,000. My surgery is the end of June. Hope this helps. -
Susyj: I'm not scheduled for banding until the end of June. I know what you are feeling. I feel like a failure. I've tried everything and I always only stay on a program for about 4 weeks. I really consider this my last chance, and I also fear not being able to make this work. But I have two friends who have been banded and they are both doing great, so in addition to the great people on the site, I've seen the results with my own eyes. Actually I met these people back in December. One was banded April 04 the other Dec 28. Although I was impressed I thought, "I'll show you--I can do this on my own" I went to Weight Watchers again for the (I don't now how many times I've started) time and guess what --- I didn't stick with it. If I'd moved forwarded on getting banded back in January I wouldn't be spending another summer looking like I do. So yes, I feel like I'm selling out, but I'll live with that and look forward to next summer and being able to golf again!!!

Good Morning and happy Friday the 13th I'm 53 years old, married mom with two daughters and a white poodle. I work full time and live in Dallas, TX. I'm going to have my surgery at the Richardson Surgery Center by Dr. Anderson. Tentatively the surgery is planned for the last week in June. I wanted it earlier but we have a wedding in Canada on June 11th and I wanted to feel good since we are spending a ton of money to get there and stay for a week. Unfortunately, I'll be going there weighing 296 lbs. Since I don't live by any family, except my husband and daughters, next time the rest of the family sees me, hopefully it will be a new me. I look at the pictures of all of you and I am so motivated!!!! You are all so beautiful!!! I'm a cash paying customer so I don't have many hoops to go through. I'll keep reading your posts and I'll stay motivated and informed until the big day.

Oops, Newbie posted on the wrong thread

Hello again, I was so nervous when I did my first post I failed to see this location for newbies. Anyway, I'll be banded the end of June. I'm excitied, anxious and nervous. I've told only a very few people. I'm not telling any of my family that lives out of town, so that includes my mother. Since I'm seeing her in June, before the surgery I probably won't see her again for another year. I would love to send her a picture of a smaller me next Christman or Mother's Day. I can't think of a better present I could give her. One month from tomorrow I'll start my pre-op meal plan. Yeah!!! Thank you for all the information ya'll share everyday.
