  1. I am happy and thankful that food no longer rules my life. Unhealthy food used to talk so loud to me. Now it is more of a whisper which I am able to answer with "nope not worth it". Pre Stevie the Sleevie it was "I will eat it eventually so might as well get it over with and eat it."

    3 weeks out...struggling!

Since I was a young woman in the 70's.......I'm familiar with the art of a shot. I don't need salt, lemons or limes. I shake the whey protein shot, open the lid, hit the protein shot on the bar er my kitchen counter. Tip my head back n chug, chug, chug. Sometimes I even hear the applause of the bar crowd as I slam the empty shot back on the counter. Give a little shudder and I have my non food protein of the day! Then i hear Jouney begin singing "Don't stop believing". It's all good. Find your groove and mantra.

    Heartburn

I'm 2 weeks out and I get heartburn when I eat too fast or too big of a bite. For me, it is a relearning process. I've been shoveling food in forever. I'm learning to listen to my sleeveie. She tells me how to proceed. A little rumble from sleeveie means set the fork or spoon down, take a breath in and out. Wait, wait. Relax before taking another bite.

    concert 16 days after surgery?

I know everyone's insurance and your Surgeon's program are different, but my insurance required me to participate in a 6 month program of meeting with dietician, nutritionist, psychologist before my surgery could be scheduled. I began the process in July of 13 and had surgery in February of 14. It did take 4 to 6 weeks for my insurance to reply that they would cover, but I had to complete their requirements before surgery was scheduled. My insurance is a national company.

    What do you eat?

I'm still on puréed food. Still trying to find a protein shake that tastes good. I find the PS's I've tried are pretty nasty. My puréed food is Stage 1 baby food..
