72 pounds in 3 months gone

Dr-Patient, for what it's worth, I think most of us followed you. Luckily, it's been my experience that posts and responses like the OP's are scarce on here. Someone seems to have forgotten we are all here to get help and support each other. I'm going to do my best to ignore the nastiness at this point.

    June sleevers, check-in!

HW 269 SW 230 CW 218 Sleeved 6/18 No regrets here either!! It's been a great June ( a great 6 months actually!)

I'm taking chewable bariatric-specific vitamins I ordered online. The brand is "celebrate". It's 2 Multi vitamins a day, plus an iron /calcium combo pill, and a vitamin d (all separate) there's a questionaire on their website that gels you figure out what you need exactly. I put them in a plastic pill organiser from the 99 cent store, to keep track.

    June 18th sleeve....soooo hungry

2 weeks, or wow, a month(!) on liquid pre op..That's a major accomplishment all in itself. I guess that's one area where I lucked out. I had to do a program to lose 10% to qualify, but only had to do one day liquids pre-op. Is your sister on here? That's awesome, to go through it together. Maybe I can get my sis on board one day.

    June 18th sleeve....soooo hungry

Well I've only lost 7 since our surgery date, if that puts it in perspective. I know what you mean about food lust. Meanwhile my hubby is scheduled for sleeve next week and is currently having all his "food funerals"...having to see it and smell it all is TORTURE.

    June 18th sleeve....soooo hungry

Mnkj719416 Hope you're doing better by now? I was also sleeved 6/18 and went through the same extreme hunger feeling till FINALLY it subsided. I was clear liquids only until day 5, now full liquids for 2 weeks. I agree with what someone said, it's much better when you get to " full liquids". I also feel like our bodies take a while to "convert" to liquids only. Anyway please update me on how you're feeling.

    Newbie

Hi Brandi and welcome! Thank you for sharing. I think most of us, if not all, can relate to the "gasping for air"feeling. Congrats on your success! Please keep us posted.

The only thing we can...sugar-free Popsicles.
  11. I'm sorry to be the bearer if bad news but there's a big chance they will postpone your surgery date. I'm sure it depends on the specific surgeon and anesthesiologist --but I know that mine (through Kaiser) would not do it if someone has had any problem like that in the past 4-6 weeks. My friend was scheduled for surgery, got bronchitis a few weeks before, and his was postponed (also Kaiser). I hope this is not the case with you, but wanted to tell you so you can mentally prepare.

Hi I was sleeved one day after you and I'm laughing at your mantra But as you know laughing does NOT feel so good either! Love your positive attitude though! Sip, Sip, Sip, Suck, Suck, Suck, Walk, Walk, Walk, Slow and Steady. I can do this! I CAN DO THIS! I WILL DO THIS!
  13. Acbell if you're looking for specifics on protein shakes, I think the best tasting one by far is syntrax nectar. There are a ton of flavours and no weird proteinish aftertaste
  14. Angi and JerseyCity, I was just sleeved 6/18 (Weds) and I have the same fear and confusion over how much I can expect to lose..I have over 100 to lose and when I hear 'you will lose 60 percent of your excess weight' I don't understand WHY? Like, what is stopping us from losing every last pound we want to? I don't know why this limitation is out there. I'm 5'1". The endocrinologist I saw a few months back said he be happy to see me at 170..well I would not be happy with that. I have been that in the past and still been very unhappy with myself. Then the surgeon said 110 lbs is a good goal and I thought that sounded wonderful. Anyway let me know if you have any insights or thoughts on this particular issue..best of luck to both of you!

    Options Panorama City

Hi! My husband and i both went thru options at panorama city. Our class ended 3/31. I know its A LOT of info to take in..just hold on to all the paperwork and you will always have it for reference..plus they give you the info again at your pre-op appt, again at the hospital, etc. and it's on their website too, so it's not like you have to memorize it or anything. Anyway, I got a lot out of the class and it helped me feel very prepared and educated about the whole thing. You will do fine too I'm sure!! One day at a time, one week at a time. And feel free to message me if you have any options-specific or kaiser-specific questions. Best of luck to you!

    Advice please...

I totally agree with the other posters. We were actually just talking about this question in class last night (kaiser options program) and our instructor said stairs shouldn't be a problem. Good luck to you
