Keep pressing the wrong button lol. So... my personal challenge is not to compare, I have no idea what losing a stone looks like as ive never done it and maybe if I concentrate on what losing a stone FEELS like I can manage my expectations. Another thing ive learned recently is that I don't always like what I've read, it might even scare me but nevertheless one I have I gotta process it so whether I agree with a post at least it has given me more ammunition and information to make it work for me xx -

Seela I feel the same way, you are making a public observation, thats what these forums are for. For me im scared about having it done, when uve tried everything else u need this to work so badly that any uncertainty is scary, especially as a fat person you may have spent a lifetime of comparing and what ifs are a daily event. But for me, my mindset tells me there is no time to relax, the early time is probably easier as its the adventure but I know there is never a good time to take ur eye off the ball. But I want to weigh this against -

DairyFairy42 replied to CassandraCorner's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Reading these notes has really got me thru the last few days. My surgery is in Belgium and was really happy then I read someones post bout GERDs and it hit home what MAY happen and feel bit sick bout it. I know that havin the op will give me extra yrs which as a single mum counts but havin a little knee wobbler. Had got my head round what may happen during op but... so now chin up and gotta push thru. Decided to start my pre op diet sat 22 Mar ready for op 8th Apr so gonna spend next week deciding whats that goin to look like so please keep the positive threads, especially bout ur diets, going as I for one look forward to them -

DairyFairy42 replied to karinbuck's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Ive told mum and two sisters and I only told my sisters in case something goes wrong and they can help my mum and deal with kids. Im single parent, told ex manager and thats it. I am terrible, its not that I cant lie, its I have to tell the truth lol so I will say had medical problems so couldnt eat, hernia op which meant I still couldn't eat and then was so fed up with food lost my appetite. Its not quite the truth but its not quite a lie. -

April 2014 sleevers
DairyFairy42 replied to CassandraCorner's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Well I've paid for flights, deposit and insurance and have to do a 2 week low fat diet with no alcohol ready for operation on 8th April, my only worry is that my passport won't be here in time. Its kinda cool though as I can't worry bout op as more worried bout passport. -

Thanks guys, I dont know if I will, whether my surgeon is waiting for deposit or what so intend to send some questions. Its awkward because going abroad so may have to rethink surgeon. So if anyone has used Belgium Surgery Services and Dr Dubruyne it would be great to hear from you. -

DairyFairy42 replied to DairyFairy42's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Lets start that again... going abroad, paying myself, GP fantastic, so what tests should I be getting my Doctor to check? I know she will do whatever I ask, within reason, so what has everyone else got checked and why? -
April 2014 sleevers
DairyFairy42 replied to CassandraCorner's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Have started telling family but made it clear not a debate rather its an opportunity to cheer me on and if thats too much be my contact person in case of emergency. Come Monday paying for everything. Self pay, bout €7000 but worth it. Only problem is having to do much of the planning myself so any views on pre op would be great, then closer the words of encouragement. -
My sleeve is 8th Aprildand still at questions, questions, questions and then have to book flights etc so scared but excited,
