eggs have been a no-no for me since surgery. My new and improved tummy doesn't like them.

Hard to believe it has been 11 months! I started at 233 and I am at 146. I haven't lost much in the last month or two. I know I need to get more excercise in and get back to basics.

I had my sleeve surgery Sept 22 2014. I am down about 63 pounds since I started my 2 week preop diet. I have been working at the same job, a Middle School, for 13 years ... for the first time I was invited to go out with a group of work people. My husband is a volunteer fire fighter/Chief, so for the holidays we are invited to many functions. My husband has been a member of the same fire department for 15 years .. so many people talked to me that never talked to me before. I am trying to figure out is it because I am more confident and out going or is it because I am not obese anymore....

I like the idea of the Protein balls.... I can't wait to experiment over the weekend.

I am hoping it is fun. I will definitely check put pintrest. Maybe I can come up with a fun twist to a protein pudding. I am hoping my family will be willing to taste all my trials and my errors. LOL

I had a small hiatal hernia that was repaired when I had my sleeve. I had some pain the first day. After that most of my pain was just from my incisions. I don't know how much of my day of surgery pain was from my sleeve and what was from my hiatal hernia.

Were you allowed to take a shower in the hospital.
jennlee1014 replied to Elode's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was given a basin with antibacterial soap to wash up in the bathroom. The PA who works with our surgeon said you don't want to shower in the hospital. She felt that it probably isn't as clean as we think. -
Alcohol (drinks) consumption after sleeve.
jennlee1014 replied to carolinda2815's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was told no alcohol for one year post sleeve. Just with post op diet progression, every doctor has his or her own thoughts. I was also told to be careful because you don't know how you a hard and fast a drink will hit you post sleeve. -
What are you telling people at home and at work?
jennlee1014 replied to vsgcrystalg's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I also work in a school - a school nurse. I told a few-non work people, friends - didn't get the most supportive responses from them. After that I decided that I wasn't going to share with the people at work. I was confident with my choice, not embarrassed, but didn't want to hear peoples negative remarks. I told work I was having Hiatal Hernia Repair. I took two weeks off from work. When I came back you could really tell that I had lost a significant amount of weight. I had one person approach me and asked what surgery I really had - that I looked amazing. Another staff member pulled aside the other nurse I work with (who was one of 2 people at work who knew the truth) and asked her if I was ill. I had been out for awhile and came back and lost so much weight. Now that I am 4 weeks post op I have shared with some more people in my social life - still haven't shared with work people. Heck, yesterday I told the guy at the fish counter at the supermarket. I was getting fish for dinner and was having a hard time deciding how much to get for me and my husband. He asked me how many people I was getting fish for - and I explained two - but not really two. LOL -
My cardiologist made me go for a complete work up. Everything turned out good. Her concern was not so much the surgery but the stress put on a person with the drastic rapid weight loss. Hand in - it will al be worth it.

I tried a few flavors and couldn't get them down. The all had a strange after taste.

Anybody out there from Long Island NY know of a good plastic surgeon that doesn't rip you off
jennlee1014 replied to kymmiej11's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Who is doing your surgery? Are you having it done on Long Island? I just had mine 9/22 at Huntington Hospital. -
How often do you see the dr. after surgery?
jennlee1014 replied to Calimomof3's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I saw my surgeon everyday I was in the hospital (3 days) then ten days post up. At my 10 day post op visit I was told to make appointment for 3 months. -
My doctor has us stay in the hospital three days. Day one surgery, Day two leak test and if all good clear fluid, day three as long as fluids are tolerated and everything else is good you go home.

Starting this process.
jennlee1014 replied to mommychuchii_'s topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Good Luck! When I started the process I was in a rush. I am so glad that I was forced to slow down and take time to digest all the information I need to be successful with this journey. My surgery date is Sept 22 and I am really ready. Don't think a few months ago i was as ready as I thought.
