Hello Everybody!
My name is Jennifer Michelle Plumley. I am 19 years old, and reside in Monroe, Louisiana. I am a fun loving, goofy type of girl! I love mud riding (my FAVORITE), riding horses, and playing Xbox. I currently work at the local Newspaper company while obtaining my college degree.
But, enough about my personal life- Let me tell you about my spectacular LapBand journey.
It all began on January 20, 2013. I (being 17 at the time) was fed up with myself. I hated the way I looked, the way people snarled at my appearance, and generally disliking my body. I had NO self confidence what-so-ever. Every thought of having to appear in public made me shutter. I have been over-weight since early childhood. Being given up by my birthmother, I was raised by my grandparents. Now, we know how all of the old timers are. They REFUSED me hanging out with ANY of my friends (Not that I had many or that they were a bad influence, I only had 2.) So, to replace my lonliness at home - food became my best friend.
That being said, anything depressing, challenging, or just boring I resorted to eating anything in sight. Soon, I gained weight becoming a whopping 210 pounds at the age of 13.
Now, I'm going to get a little technical and (for men) a little disgusting.
With all of the sudden weight, I began having complications; stomach aches EVERY morning, back pain, cramps. I knew something wasn't right. We scheduled a doctors appointment the next day. Come to find out, I was diagnosed with Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome. I was told I could never have children (which KILLED ME). Alongside this disease, I was told I also acquired Type 2 Diabetes. Something HAD to be done.
After endless hours of research on dieting (which I've tried for about 4 1/2 years without any signs of accomplishments) I stumbled onto a quiet odd surgery, LapBand. As I pursued into the reading, info and facts, I became intrigued. I wanted this surgery.
I met with a super nice lady named Charolette Primos at Premier LapBand for Less, she informed me of everything I already knew from research. I was already sold on the surgery.
On March 6, 2013 my life as I knew it changed instantaneously. I was heading to Fresno, Texas to Baylor University Hospital for my surgery. Not going to lie, I was overwhelmed fear, anxiety, and hope that this was going to be the answer and cure I'd always wanted. As I checked into the hospital, the lovely nurses gathered my vitals, and shortly began wheeling me down the long corridor hallways. I began crying saying, "I change my mind. I do not want to do this! Take me home!"
Thankfully, the nurses kept on rolling me away. I woke up feeling the same : a little sore of course, but I also felt like I was a person reborn. Yes, the beginning roads had a lot of trials and tribulations - one being me almost becoming fully dehydrated after surgery once I were home (oops). But, I made it.
March 6, 2015 made ONE YEAR that I have had LapBand! My weight has shed off like water! Beginning at a whopping 260 pounds, I to this day (March, 8, 2015) am now 175 pounds and continuously dropping! I am also proud to say that I am NO LONGER a diabetic NOR do I have the dreaded Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome! Loosing weight has solved ALL of my problems!
I now love myself like I should have a long time ago. It feels wonderful being able to go to the store and actually find clothes I can fit in! I have went from a size 22 pants and a 3XL shirt to a size 15 pant and XL shirt! I feel AMAZING and do not ever regret getting this wonderful invention, LapBand! I still have small issues, my one and only being hair loss : hair becoming super thing, but not balding - that I am trying to find a solution to.
I know these wonderful ladies and gentleman will probably never see this, but I would like to personally Thank Them for helping me along this road, and also helping me to become the person I have been so longing to be. My wonderful surgeon, Dr Joseph Cribbins, the many nurses at Baylor University Hospital, my monthly Fill Nurse Courtney Blankley, her nurses' aid Cameron Hernandez, Ms. Charlotte Primos, and everyone who have supported me along this journey.
That is a little, (well more like a lot) about me and my experience with LapBand. If you have read this through, thank you for being intrigued with my story! If you would like to become friends, or share your story with me, feel free to add me as a friend, or better yet text me! I have NO issues making new friends! My number is 1-318-372-1636
God Bless You All, And Good Luck On Your LapBand Journeys!
