Undecided lap band vs sleeve
Patsypatrice replied to Laurensloss's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Hi I only 6 days post op sleeve but am very happy so far.I feel great and have had no problems with gas, nausea or pain or bloating. I know it was a commitment to know this is permanent and irreversible but I like the fact that both the top of stomach is still attached to the esophagus and the bottom to the intestine so it is basically a normal stomach tho smaller. If you are concerned about it not being reversible there is also the gastric plication which just folds the stomach inside itself making it smaller but can be reversed. I too know people who have had the band and have had problems or also have not lost weight. But it has to be your decision so good luck and hope this forum has helped. -
Hi all, my surgery was also on the 26th and I am feeling great. I had no trouble with gas, nausea or pain. I started passing gas on the second day and have now had my first bowel movement which was normal. I did weigh as when we went in to have dressing changed she weighed me and I was up 6 pounds which did not surprise me as the friend who recommended me was up 9 pounds. This morning I am down two pounds from day of surgery and 16 pounds since starting pre op diet. I found Premier Protein at costco which is a chocolate shake that has 30 Gm Protein, 3 Gm fat, and 1 Gm sugar. It is very good.

Hi, I also had my surgery on 2/26 and am feeling great. I had no problems with pain, gas or nausea. I started passing gas on the second day. I did weigh but had been told by friend that recommended the surgery that you do gain weight after. When I went back in to have dressing change they weighed me and I was up 6 pounds. Sunday I was up two pounds from day of surgery weight, yesterday the same and today I am down two so am now 221 this morning. I found Premier Protein at costco which has 30 GM Protein, 1 Gm fat and 1Gm sugar and is really good chocolate shake.

I hope I can say the same thing someday. My surgery is Wednesday 2/26 and my friends and family are against it so I will probably hear the same thing when I start losing. But what an exicting journey to see how far you have come in your whole life. More power to you! -

Any February 2014 Sleevers?
Patsypatrice replied to honeyg317's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
My name is Pat and my surgery is scheduled for the 26th so I am getting a little apprehensive. I want to lose 80 pounds and have lost 10 so far on the Pre_Op diet. I am a food O Holic and eat any food that is in front of me so I hope I lose that urge to eat which I have been told this surgery takes the Gruelen part of your stomach away. My friends and family are against me doing this so I hope I do not regret it, I am really committed but could use some encouragement
