We have almost identical stats!! We definitely need to stick together on this journey! Are you on a 2 week pre-op diet as well?? I'm buying all my protein this week and making sure I purchase the correct vitamins. Getting SO excited!

I’m feeling the same way and doing it for the same reasons. But trying to stay positive and get as prepared as I can. -

I'm 60. Anyone else over 50 doing RNY?
claricey replied to Pam Peltz's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
I’m 53 and scheduled for revision sleeve to bypass on 3/11 (pending insurance approval, of course). Peri-menopause/menopause has made this struggle even more “fun”! I’m very optimistic! -
@Frustr8 , omg you have been through SO MUCH! I absolutely love your outlook and attitude. It is exactly what you need to get through this to better days. And it does sound like you are on your way. Progress is progress and you can't deny that! Thanks for your insight. I love hearing recommendations and feedback from folks as I am quite sure I haven't heard or seen it all even through I've been around the WLS block a few times. Take care and look forward to chatting with you more!

I was originally sleeved in August of 2014 and will be having RNY on 3/11. (Pending insurance approval, of course) My surgeon assures me that with my reflux issues and sleeve dysfunction that I will get the approval that is why he gave me the date already. Best of luck to you and I'd love to keep checking in with each other as we go through the journey! Claricey -
Thank you @Frustr8 ! That is good to know! I'm beginning to finalize all of my shopping lists for vitamins and taste testing a bunch of different protein shakes and supplements. I'm hearing that sipping and drinking will likely be more difficult after GBP than it was with the sleeve therefore, I want to get as much protein bang for my buck. What are some of your favorites???

I have Independence BCBS and hoping to hear by 10 more business days.

Did you all get your insurance approvals yet???? I’m still awaiting mine.

16 months out and 18 pound regain after losing 60. Feeling lost...would love to join an accountability group if you are still doing that. Starting back slowly by logging everything that goes into my mouth on LoseIt. com. I have 2 knees that need to be replaced within the next 3 years or so....so exercise is painful but not impossible. I plan to walk...just plain walk as well as log my food to try to lose some of what came back on me. I feel so yucky...bloated etc... Together with each other's help and encouragement we can do this!

I am 10 weeks out and can say that one glass of wine does get me loopy. Quite a cheap date after band to sleeve revision. This was not the case prior to the surgery. My surgeon allows limited alcohol but was clear in that those calories go toward my daily caloric limit so at this point in my journey I definitely do not over indulge.

Band to Sleevers how many pounds did yu drop in the first 2 months ?
claricey replied to nowornever14's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
9 weeks from surgery and 24 pounds down. Losing much slower than I anticipated but my Dr. is very happy with the results. :)P -
Hi everyone! Well for many of us we are approaching the one year mark. How do you feel? I feel so much better than I did this time last year mentally and physically but I am a bit discouraged that I let myself slide for the past few months. However, I'm not going to let that get the best of me. I intend to re-start from scratch. I have heard about a 3 or 5 day pouch "test" to get things back to basics and jump start things a bit. Has anyone else heard of this? I am also making exercise a priority. I have let that go in lieu of many other things that I've been doing for various family members and also working from home at night. I just am not going to do that anymore. I'm hoping these changes will get me back on track quickly. Any other tips or encouragement for me?? Thanks for listening and hope everyone has had a wonderful holiday season. Claricey

Anyone else have a slide in the wrong direction. I had about a 3-4 month plateau and about 15 pounds have crept back on. Just cant seem to motivate. I guess I've figured ways to defeat the band and I've lost my momentum. Would love to hear from anyone else that experienced a set back. I'm trying to keep the depression at bay but with lots of personal family and work issues right now I'm finding it so difficult. Thanks for listening and congrats to everyone for working so hard this year.

REMARKABLE!!!! Congrats to you on all your hard work and dedication! You deserve it and MUCH MORE! :huh2:

Just had my 2nd fill this morning. I got 1.8cc - not much but he said I am tight so be careful and report any issues. I'll be on liquids through Saturday and then mushies on Sunday. Back to normal food on Monday. Hoping this gives me the restriction and helps me break out of this plateau! Onward and upward! We are all doing so GREAT...keep it up gang!

Hey Barb! Don't give up the ship!! You are doing SOOO awesome. I too am on again off again with the exercise but you will find something that works for you I'm sure! It's all about balance and figuring out what works and every week is different. Our bodies are changing SO much we have to try not to get discourgaged. Checking in here is great inspiration so please come back often. Take care and keep up the great work! You ARE doing it  Claricey

Rachel I have experienced exactly the same thing as you. A plataeu for about 6-8 weeks. The last 2 weeks I've been eating everything (and alot of it...way more than my pouch should hold) and kind of just giving up. HOWEVER, I have abandoned that toxic mentality and as of today have started back on track. I had my 1st fill in May and every since then it's been downhill. I go for another one in 2 weeks (the week AFTER vacation) so hopefully that will help with restriction as I feel as though I had more BEFORE my fill. I know its crazy and everybody is different so PLEASE hang in there it does get better. Keep us posted on your progress...you are doing fabulous and you will continue to, I just know it!
-
I too had my first fill and since then have been able to eat pretty much as much as I want to without feeling full. I plateaued immediately after the fill and have gained 5 pounds since. I just scheduled my 2nd fill for late July. Hopefully I'll find my sweet spot soon. Good luck to you...I think so may factors affect our restriction etc...as our bodies are constantly changing inside and out when we lose weight. Best wishes you are doing GREAT!!! Claricey

Congrats CherieLynne!!! You should be VERY proud!! :frown: Fantastic work!! Wish I did live in LA...have friends there but haven't visited in too long. Enjoy your trip!

Everyone just looks FABULOUS! Here are a few before and afters to add to the mix. Keep up the great work all! :tongue2:
-
You all look FABULOUS!! Congrats on all the hard work, it sure is paying off. It's rocky going for me right now on this plateau but I intend to crush it! My weight loss has slowed to 1.3 pounds per week and that is TOOOOO SLOW for me. I will get a before/after pic posted soon. :tongue2:

It is so great to see so many positive updates here. We Jan Bandsters ROCK! I thought I would add my update as some things have changed since last time I was here. It's been quite a while since I last posted. I am 13 weeks out from surgery and am down 45 pounds. I have begun working out pretty regularly for the last 3 weeks or so. (every other day) This week I started back to the gym once per week with a trainer. I am scheduled for my FIRST fill on 5/6. I recently hit a plateau and hovered between 3 pounds up and down for about 10 days. I am now able to eat more than the 6-7 ounces per meal and don't get that feeling of being full or having to stop. In fact, I could eat WAY more than that so I figure it's time. However, I still feel pretty full between meals except for dinner time. That is the time when I could eat a house. I hope everyone is coping well with the new exciting changes that have come our way since surgery. I sure an enjoying buying some smaller sized clothes and am loving the way I am looking in the new duds! Take care! Claricey
