I started this journey last year at my information session in October 2013. started my first appointment on October 20. I went through the 6 month required process. I wasn't happy about this in the beginning but I understand now. It gave me time to prepare and learn. And it flew by so fast.
I went in on March 17th, 2014 for my bypass. got set up and all of my 6 incisions and ready to go when they discovered a very big hernia. So instead of my bypass I had hernia repair.
My surgery is now rescheduled for June 4th, 2014.
I will also have a smaller hernia repaired and my gallbladder removed.
I learned alot about my self and others during this whole process.
I am excited about my surgery but decided not to talk about it to many people as I did the first time. I don't like the negativity from people who have never done any research about these types of surgeries and how they can save your life. I'm a single mom and I'm doing this for me and him and no one else.
This is NOT the easy way out. I have family and friends who have already done this surgery successfully. And it's come such a long way. And thankfully there is so much support around every corner now. :)
