Summer 2018 Surgery Buddies: POST-OP Discussion
Megan Sadler replied to Ylime's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Ellie I want to know what you do for work! Would love to be able to travel like that. That being said—I’m so upset to hear your surgeon put an elective surgery above your safety. I would report him to the med board. I hope you have a wonderful trip!! -

Lol 😂 I’ll take a ribeye 20 oz blue rare (I won’t eat that much just reheat the next day for a philly lettuce wrap instead) sides with onions and mushrooms and asparagus or Brussel sprouts or green beans -

Has anyone tried banana egg pancakes? Thinking about trying these. We like to do pancakes a couple times a week. -

Ellie I’m glad they seem to have an idea of what’s going on! Good that you’re being taken care of, and that you got to be visited by your family! I hope the endoscopy goes well for you tomorrow. Let us know, you’re in my thoughts and prayers. @AEdoesRnY congrats!! You’re looking great! I just hit the 40 lb loss mark! I’m currently doing a free trial of kickboxing at 9 round and can’t wait to sign up for my membership next month. -

Ellie I know you will make it up to your son. Yes he’s heartbroken but you needed to go. Take him on a special mom son date as soon as you’re better. I don’t know how close you are to Austin but there is this place called the void—take him to that if you can. It’s seriously awesome!! (We hAve one here actually which is a funny location compared to Anaheim, Dubai, Disney world, London, Paris etc) What do you do for work out of curiosity? I think I’ve said it here I work for dominos as a pizza chef 👩🍳 I closed last night and wasn’t tempted at all by the left over bread sides which according to policy expire at close (like we can make fresh ones 5 minutes before and they’re good for 4 hours but close hits and they’re expired) which means they’re free game for employees. I used to get excited to have them. They were my favorite and I didn’t even care about them. -

So walk in with the complaint of sever dehydration and ask the er doc for a couple bags of fluids while in there. Explain to him that you haven’t been getting enough—tell the doc exactly why. They shouldn’t have an issue filling your fluids up at the er if you specify. That’s what I did at week 2. Told the doc I needed the fluids and they ordered it. My body sucked those fluids up so quickly. -

Ellie don’t push yourself if you can’t. If you can’t take him to the dance now take him out later. I hope you’re feeling better. Are you getting enough liquids in? Being sick sucks. Went back to 9 round today my legs are killing me. -

Congrats on the weight loss and the promotion!! As for the headaches I’m no doctor, but maybe something you are eating is causing it. Some people can’t handle things like nightshades for example. Try the whole 30 it’s an elimination diet perfect for wls patients, and it can help you see if a specific food is causing your head aches. -

Sounds like a stall. They’re normal but irritating. Make sure (if you’re cleared) you’re working out, your eating clean, getting enough protein, fiber, calories etcZ -

So I went to a trial membership at 9round fitness. I highly recommend it!! They put me with a trainer, he adjusted the work out to fit my skill level. Made it through the whole thing!! It was a full body workout, strength and cardio both incorporated. It’s only 30 minutes. I couldn’t do a push-up or a sit up so he made it work. It was awesome. And the trainer isn’t extra on top of the membership. It’s included 😍😍 unlimited access and month to month!! -

I know what you mean. I’m focusing on other things as well. It’s nice though I have more energy! I actually killed it at work today. Usually I struggle to get my list done and keep a good load time. Something slips and I end up choosing my 3.5 load time (work thing) today it was 2.4 load!! Which is amazing!! ;) kept all my work stats up (cdot at 95%, load time low, etc) I busted through a 15 pie order and still managed to get prp done while keeping up with dishes. Pits clean, and makeline stocked (I know non of that makes sense to any of you unless you work for dominos lol) I still step on the scale each morning. I like trying new foods and learning what I can and can’t have. I’m excited to keep going forward 😋 hoping to get back on track at work for franchising once I franchise I can step back and have 100k/year coming in while I build my homestead (dreams!) Hopefully the obsessed with my weight thing will fade. -

Ellie stop cooking, eat off your freezer stock for a while. It gives you a break from the cooking too. -

I’ve learned to just not make things that I can eat no issue. I know I do just fine with sautéed veggies so I went to Costco and bought green beans and mushrooms. By storing them correctly the green beans keep really well. So I eat that 2x a day, and in the next week I’ll just steam the rest with some carrots (probably Sunday) with the other chicken sitting above them, cooking. And the kids and my husband will finish them up. I love making different foods but I also know I can’t eat that much so I store what I can (freezing individual portions to pop through the microwave or put through the oven at work to heat) -

That sounds like a good plan. I’m a pizza chef and so when I have a moment at work I just refill my little cup at work and drink that. -

I went to Costco and bought a pack of the 8 oz water bottles. I can chug about 1/3 at a time, wait a few minutes and go back and so on. Then I don’t overdo it on water. -

I’ve been doing a ton more cooking lately. I can easily scarf down a cup of soup or s cup of veggies but heavier foods it’s more like a 1/4 cup I can have. -

I haven’t tried bananas yet. I’m scared it’ll be too sweet and I’ll dump on it. But I haven’t dumped on anything except some sugar free pudding I ate a month ago. I usually just throw up if I can’t eat something . -

So I’m trying some chicken and rice for dinner tonight. I’ve learned that breads and breaded foods I can’t have. They fill me up. I can’t have potatos either. But most veggies I’ve tried go down no issue. Tomorrow I’m going to a kickboxing gym near me that is offering me a free. The mall I live by is offering a fitness thing free on Saturday mornings untill winter. So I’m going to that. Also upper management stopped by work today and mentioned I’m looking much better than I had before my surgery!! -

I had to change what I was eating. I’m following 100 days of real food at the moment, doing a lot of home cooking and less processed stuff, I try to follow Whole 30 rules with processed things (I.e. if I’m buying chicken stock it’s whole 30 approved, or I have to make it at home) I changed my pills too. I ended up with the one a day woman’s petite. It goes down easier and doesn’t bother my tummy. I also just started buying 8 oz water bottles from Costco and drinking from those at home because I can pop a bunch in the fridge and pull one out and have that as my goal for the hour. Potato’s don’t work for me anymore so I swapped to cauliflower etc. -
