Hi.. I was banded on Aug.1st and had the same problem with my vision.. But on my last two surgery's I had the same thing... It is a result of the anesthesia I was told... It will get better... Or look at it as a look in the future of aging... the first is the up close things....you need longer armes...

Congraduation........... I was banded on the 1st of Aug. I also had little discomfort. I have almost nothing now. Only if I sneeze or cough. I haven't needed any pain meds in days. I now can sleep on my stomach. My tape is still on my incisions but is looking like it wants to fall off. Good luck

Morning, I too was taped no other bandages. I took a shower before I left the hospital. I stayed one night. I was told the tape will fall off on their own. No cream. I'm day 6 after surgery today and they look like they are starting to fall of. I shower every night and have resumed sleeping on my stomach.

Hang in there. Sometimes we have to become a island and do what we have to do for ourselves. They will come around and be there.. Hang in there girl. You are worth it. I didn't tell to many friends and family until after the surgery for this reason... I still haven't told my best friend and may never... I have to take care of me.. I had my surgery last Friday and the ones I didn't tell didn't suspect a thing.... Oh they all know I'm always dieting so for them they will think THIS ONE WORKED.... I'll say you can do it.... Just say no..... That is what they have told me for years....

Hi I'm an Aug 1st also.. also wake up not hungry but an empty feeling. I feel my port incision. The others I don't feel at all. I'm still taking some pain med but very little. I wake at night every 4 to pee but go right back to sleep. Everyday better. I know when I need pain med when I kinda bend over when I walk. I think it is time for a nap. Talk to you later. Thanks it means everything to me.. I know you will do well... I know this sounds silly but enjoy it.. They are there for you and let me tell you it was a good thing... I could not believe how everyone kept congratulating me. Yes and telling me how jealous they are. They want it too. I had all those thought too. I almost backed out. My friend said that is because we aren't used to doing things for ourselves and we feel like we don't deserve it. So remember you are worth it... You do deserve it just go for it....

I did it and I can not believe I was so nervous... It was a walk in the park. I'm home now three days. I had the surgery Fri. stayed overnight and came home Sat. I have to say eating is forced. I'm not at all hungry. I'm able to cook for my husband with no problem. This is a sweet adventure. Little discomfort and no nausea.. Hi fellow Aug 1st'ers Well we did it.. I sure hope you fellow bander's are feeling as good as I feel... Yesterday a little sore and weak.. But much better today. I was banded in Monterey CA by Dr. Mark Vierra. I was so worried and I should have listened more to you guys you were right... I would do it again in a second. So far so good. The thing I keep thinking about is everyone at the hospital saying congradutation... That was so cool. Lets keep in touch and be really big loosers... I would like to loose 100 pounds. At the moment of surgery I was 241. I love a challenge.. We all must because being overweight is a real challenge everyday in every way..:teeth_smile:

Hi... Oh banded ones.. I made it I was banded Friday Aug.1st at 11:30 am.. Spent the night in the hospital. CHOMP( community hospital of the Monterey peninsula) The hospital was wonderful. My doctor was Mark Vierra. I can't say enough about him.. I feel wonderful. A little discomfort yesterday but mostly not. I have pain meds if I need them. And again not.. I can't believe how worried I was. I almost called it off. This for me is a walk in the park. All my normal meds went down with not a hitch. I was worried about that. I do have one recommendation to make... Tuck your blankets and sheets really tight.. You can use them to help get you out of bed. if no one is around it works fine. I really think it is going to be o.k. In the hospital everyone kept saying congratulations on my surgery:thumbup::teeth_smile:... Can you imagine congratulation how cool is that... Most of all I want to thank everyone on this site... You are some smart cookies, you really helped me. Thank you for being there..

Hi.... I have to be there by 9am and I have done the same things that you had... On the site reading every story... I also scared myself. Today has been half way between hell and heaven. I'm sure you know how I feel. My husband is blind and this will be the first time he is alone at the house. We have gone over everything but the added stress is not cool. We have a 8 month old puppy and what ever happens it happens. We live so far from our family and will be on our own... Another like challenge.. I just want it to be over. The doctor said I have to stay over night and that will be hard. Good luck...We can take this journey togeather...:biggrin:

Shinyhappymommy, Great for you.. I'm a short timer with all the fears and excitement I can handle.. Sometimes I can't wait others I have my hand on the phone to cancell... Yesterday I had almost talked myself into calling to stop the surgery.. Then my husband came out of no where and said how happy for me he was.. I made him swear on his mother's grave he wasn't just trying to make me happy. He did. I hadn't said anything to him it made me think it would be o.k. I'm really looking forward to my new life.. But I know if you guys weren't here it would be a lot harder. Today we will shop for my supplies.. Anything I can't live without? Friday at 11:30 am I will have my surgery....... Thanks for being there....

Tonni I'm freaking out!!!!!!!!! I think the negative thoughts are normal...I hope because I've got them also... My surgery is this Friday and I just want to get this show on the road... Good Luck These Posts have been a real life saver..

I have Cronhs. i will be banded Aug. 1st. So to anwser your question yes.. I will be the first for my Doc and he has been doing this for years...
