Back to Work after Panni + Abdominoplasty
browneyedgirl1981 replied to livvsmum's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Good luck! I wish I was at goal and could have this done. I hope you get the answers to your questions. -
I've been stalling for a month now. I've done a really strict diet for the last three days. I am hoping that changing up my routine for a few days will trick my body and get a few pounds off.

So I'm two years out and loving life! My favorite eats...
browneyedgirl1981 replied to LipstickLady's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Here are some of the kids meals I've gotten. Chik Fil A - grilled nuggets (4 and 6 pieces), cup of fruit, and a diet lemonade (or any other drink you want). I just wish there was one closer than two hours from my house! Wendy's - kids meal with a grilled chicken wrap and apple slices. McDonald's - chicken nuggets, but I peel off the battered crust and apple slices. Texas Roadhouse - grilled chicken with steamed broccoli. Dairy Queen - grilled chicken wrap and a banana. Arby's - junior turkey and cheese and applesauce. I wish my surgeon had those cards to give out. Maybe I'll make my own! If the restaurant menu say something like 'for kids 12 and under please' I don't even try just because they use the word please! Haha. -
Ladies: Do you have trouble finding a good bra after wl?
browneyedgirl1981 replied to LumpySpacePrincess's topic in WLS Veteran's Forum
I have lots of trouble! A 38 band is too loose, but a 36 band crests too much of a bulge. Firm fat was much prettier than flabby fat is. ???? -
You know you lost weight when

When you can cross your legs... without using your hands!!! -
Ok, so I'm down 65 lbs, and have noticed that my fat is much more 'jiggly' than it used to be. Don't get me wrong, I'd much rather weigh 65 lbs less and be 'jiggly', than have 'firm' fat (which sounds like a complete oxymoron). Anyway, what are the best ways to get more firm and toned? I am not one to go to the gym and use free weights, so I thought about ordering PiYo, but I'm not 100% sold on it yet. What are you all doing?

Firming and Toning - Need Help!
browneyedgirl1981 replied to browneyedgirl1981's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Thanks ladies! I've been doing cardio for about six weeks now, but haven't seen any results on my legs even though I use an eliptical. My arms and legs are awful! Interesting to know about the flax/fish oil. I'll definitely have to check into it. I don't have much elasticity in my skin. Or I assume I don't from the massive amount of stretch marks I have! Over the weekend, I read that it can take 6 months for your skin to catch up with your weight loss. I hope mine catches up at least a little! -
300 calories if I'm lucky
browneyedgirl1981 replied to jdillon's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
3 days out and I was still negative in calories because I was puking my guts out! You are doing great! Just don't overdo it with walking or taking in too much. You definitely don't want to get sick! -
I'm about 10 weeks out, and I'm still eating lots of greek yogurt, chicken breast, and Protein bars, and a daily Protein shake. I have eaten nuts a few times but they don't seem to sit well with me. I've also tried salads, and that was a terrible mistake. I'm SO tired of the SAME things every day. I do not like any kind of fish/seafood, so chicken it is, I guess. Even though I can eat more, I'm still not getting in the required amount of protein. I'm seriously struggling and need any advice or suggestions you may have!

Slim fast

I love the high protein Slim Fast! By far the best drink ever. My surgeon said they are fine as long as it's the high protein one. -
Question about drinks / fluids

Great news about fluids. I was so afraid I was going to get dehydrated! Thank you both! -
Question about drinks / fluids
browneyedgirl1981 posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have two questions... 1. Do Protein drinks count toward the amount of fluids we are supposed to have daily? 2. Is a Protein Drink considered drinking before/after eating like other drinks? For example, if I have a protein drink and string cheese for lunch, does the 15/60 minute rule apply? -
Finally something warm and good to eat

I'm 3 weeks post-op today and get to add baked or canned chicken and fish. What exactly is baked chicken? And if I have canned chicken, can I add relish? -
How many didnt follow the pre opt diet BE HONEST
browneyedgirl1981 replied to LookatmeNow34's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I followed my doctor's recommended diet for a couple of reasons. First off, it reduces the size of the fatty liver. If they go in and the liver is in the way, they can't do the surgery. Second, starting the pre-op diet helps you jump start your weight loss AND learn healthier eating habits so you will be more prepared after surgery. -
Confused on how weight loss works
browneyedgirl1981 posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
First of all, I know everyone's diets are different. I'm not asking what you can eat at certain stages. But, I'm confused. The first week or two is liquids then on to soft foods and so on. So if we are gradually increasing our food intake, how do we keep losing weight? -
Confused on how weight loss works
browneyedgirl1981 replied to browneyedgirl1981's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Well, I guess a little. But I will be three weeks out on Friday and feel like I'm 'eating' more because I have added soft foods like Greek yogurt, peaches, and cheese cubes. And I still drink shakes to get my protein in. -
Hottub 3 weeks after surgery?

You can buy it at walmart. There are several brands to choose from. Some even have a gradual self tanner mixed in. -
calories
browneyedgirl1981 replied to Pretty_In_Purple's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I drank the Premier Protein before surgery just fine, but now they taste way too sweet for me. Now I'm drinking the Atkins Advantage. They all have the same as another posted, 160 calories and 15 grams of protein. I've tried the French vanilla, caramel cafe, and mocha latte and they are all great! -

How far out before you tried the ranch powder? -
So I've been reading that for a few weeks post op, we should be at 600-800 calories per day, and 70-100 grams of protein per day. How do you get that much protein with so few calories?

Protein vs. Calories
browneyedgirl1981 replied to browneyedgirl1981's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thank you all! I don't have trouble staying within the calorie range at all, sometimes I don't even get to 500. Getting all the protein is hard. Glad to know it's normal for a month or so!
