Totally not there yet, but what about some type of going back to the basics? food habits are incredibly difficult to break - enjoy the weight you have lost and remind yourself why you started the journey.

R U ready to recieve your Healthy Body? What R the TOP things you are excited to do when you hit your goal?
shahada replied to cindyvirden.com's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Running without discomfort, being able to shop in any store I want, wearing cute under garments, not being the "fat friend" in the group, and just being able to be active (go on spur of the moment hikes, ride my bike to the grocery store without it feeling difficult, etc). -
I totally know that feeling Good for you - I too am happy to be a healthier mom for my three kids!

July 7..need some feedback
shahada replied to choosinghealth's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I'm only a month out but I'm still incredibly grateful to have chosen to have the VSG. No regrets honestly. But I certainly was not prepared for the emotional rollercoaster it would put me on (mourning food, being sad about portion size, etc). I'm working through these things with the therapist I've been seeing for the past year, but I was just genuinely unprepared for all the food issues that would come up. Physically however, I'm feeling fabulous -
Before and still going pics.

What would be considered a normal amount of weight loss
shahada replied to terisis's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
One thing I've learned from reading these boards is that there is no normal. I totally know what you mean wanting to know what's normal though!! -

That's AWESOME!!! -
The past few days I've really felt the loss of food/old habits. I've been feeling lonely and this is a big trigger for me to turn to old habits. Obviously, I cannot and will not eat anything off my food plan (both because my stomach is tiny and because I am 110% committed to my health and progress). So instead, I've been staring longingly at Pinterest food pictures (lame, I know). I'm in a weird in between place with school and work and I know that's contributing to these blah feelings as well. I'm just looking for advice from those of you who have gone through a similar phase - thanks!

Good for you, really. It's victories like that that make this worth it!

Seriously mourning food :(
shahada replied to shahada's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I really appreciate the responses everyone. It's comforting to know I'm not alone This whole surgery is such a process and I honestly did not really realize how fully encompassing it would be until it happened! Grieving food is such an odd feeling, but I'm glad to know it won't last! -
Congrats!!!

My insurance did not require a PC approval letter. Maybe yours won't either? Regardless, I still had a conversation with my PC and he was really happy for me

Apps for calorie/protein tracking?
shahada replied to MB Ready to Change's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I use myfitnesspal.com - I love that it has a pie chart option with carb, protein, and fat designation so I can see how I've eaten for the day. Great phone app and easy to use online as well. -
