    Port Flipped

Hi Christine: I think that "Green Zone" is an urban legend, lol. I feel no restriction. I am losing weight but its because Im working out and eating better. Im still hungry and feel like I could totally overeat with no problem. Consequently, I had a life changing surgery so my brain controls my overeating. Lol.

    Port Flipped

Christine, it was totally painless. I cant believe I was so upset for no reason. The procedure was done on Tuesday and I was back to work on Wednesday. The worst part of it was I couldn't go to the beach for 10 days (because of the incisions). Best of luck, and dont worry about it.....Its totally cake.

    Port Flipped

Thank you so much!!! After I spoke to my surgeon today and could speak without crying he explained everything. Im going to get a fill and fix the port. I was so scared I was going to have that pain after the initial surgery. That terrified me!!! Additionally, I can go back to work, however, I just need to be cautious of bending, lifting, etc. I learned my lesson. Gonna stick to supervising lifeguards and stay away from the water!!! Thank you again!!!
  4. I went to the Dr. today for my first fill and learned that my port flipped. I started sobbing when he told me. The pain after surgery was almost unbearable and here Im looking at another surgery on Tuesday. My Dr. is amazing and he told me this isn't a big deal, I totally trust him. However, because I was a crying mess I didn't ask specifics. Can I go to work the next day? When can I start working out again? Did I cause this from starting P90x too soon post op? Any advice on this is greatly appreciated!!!

    Just banded today!

Ecgreen, it does get better. I was banded Tuesday and was ready to rip it out of me because the pain was so bad. The walking really does work and time. I felt pretty good after 3 days.

    OUCH

Totally. Those pains were horrible!!! I never experienced pain like that before. Thankfully I feel much better today. I was able to walk down to the beach today and gonna try stopping the pain meds tonight. Now I'm just confused on how to tell when to stop drinking water. I understand sips but I feel like I could drink more than a sip. Does that make sense? I thought I knew everything there was to be prepared for this surgery, but now that its done I feel totally clueless.

    OUCH

Well it sounds like I need to suck it up and just deal. I never dreamed this pain would be so bad. Im a lifeguard, very active and thought I had a high threshold for pain. This surgery brought me to my knees. Sooo I guess I wont be ripping this thing out of me for now. Lol. Thank you for the feedback, it helps so much.

    OUCH

I was banded yesterday and I am in so much pain!!! Its pain right in the middle of diaphragm/stomach area. I guess its gas pain, however, I have never felt gas pain like this before. I have been walking, taking meds, tea, ice and it wont quite. How long does this gas pain usually last? Right now I wish I would of never had this surgery.
  10. I should really be sleeping right now but Im to excited to sleep. As cliche as it sounds, I feel like its Christmas Eve waiting for Santa. Lol. This site has been very helpful and so appreciative of all the info I have received. Time to take my half of xanax and get to sleep. Tomorrow starts my new beginnings.
