Going to Dr Strom also. Surgery scheduled May 15th. Still need GI clearance and Pulmonary. Since I have had a UPP and still had sleep apnea, I already use CPAP.

I am a nurse too. I am planning on taking 4 weeks. If you work 12 hour shifts, please make sure you feel well before returning. Good Luck!

I am having mine done in Holmdel too! My first visit was 2/6. Flying through the consults. Hardest time I had was getting my primary to write a letter of support. Wanted to charge me $300. Did you get the letter of support? Did you have your second consult with NUT?

I live in Central Jersey. I am both excited and nervous. I could definitely bump the surgery up, but I am trying to work this around my work schedule and my daughter's sporting events.

Hello Madamsoul and Patty8763. I am also from NJ. Still in the early stages of all the consults. Went to my first nutrition class last week. Cardiologist and Psych this week. Surgery scheduled for 5/15. Hopefully approval will not be an issue since I am having the surgery done in the health system that I work for. Surgeon came highly recommended. Going through phases of excitement and nervousness. Looking forward to getting my life back and my weight under control. My sister is having surgery mid March but is having the bypass. I am having the sleeve.

Best of Luck to all that is having surgery tomorrow! Mine is not scheduled until 5/15. Seems like an eternity away but I am hoping time flies. Looking forward to following your progress!

You got this! Try to take a couple deep breaths and relax. You have a lot of sleevers and soon to be sleevers pulling for you. -
I am just starting out too! Cardiology and Psych consults this week. GI next. So happy to see so many others going through this journey supporting each other. Good Luck!

CPAP or BPAP Machine for sleep apnea
MoBee replied to CurvyCakes's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have had CPAP for the last 5 years. While I was a mouth breather, I couldn't adjust to the mask. I felt claustrophobic. I use the nasal pillows and would recommend it ! I had the UPP first hoping to avoid the machine. I am hoping that eventually I will not need the machine but until than it is nice not waking up with a H/A or waking every hour. The added bonus is that I no longer snore ????. Good luck!
