My Dr wants me to have between 74 and 91grms of protein a day! I looked around and found Advantage from Atkins...there shakes are 20grm each...but they have a terrible aftertaste (very dissapointing). I think it's from the splenda (I really don't like splenda). I've tried slimfast but the grit makes me want to gag. Does anyone else have any ideas? Anything good that you like?

Something nice my daughter tells me "Mommy, I love you best. Daddy is too hard but you're nice and soft." It makes me want to say nice and soft. I love that! -
Think of all the money you've saved by not eating... You deserve it!
-
It's a wonderful feeling, and I only feel it when I'm in the process of eating...then afterwards I once again feel like, "What the hell have I done"
-
I think it means that immediate gradification that you feel when you eat and eat on something that taste wonderful, and the desire never to stop. That's how I would describe it.

We had a big BBQ and usually I can eat as much as 3 grown men. I kid you not! But this is the first holiday I've had the band and I only ate 2 ribs and a serving of greenbeans. I was so full! It felt great eating like a normal person!

I'm having to struggle with my mind vs my body. I really want to eat! I know it's just a habit I have to break, but I really want to. My Dr wants me to eat 3 meals a day...but I really struggle! How long will it be until my mind and body line up? Right now I'm can eat a lean quizine meal and feel full, and that feeling last for maybe 2hr and then I feel like I'm starving again. Should I eat, or should I wait? What do you do?

I believe it will affect there looks. I know before I was pg my breast were a full c cup...both the same size...but after they were a full d (maybe bigger) and one is larger than the other by aprox 1/2 cup....After I quit bf, they went back to a C/D cup and they are still lopsided (my daughter is 4yrs old) and they were never a perky again. Also I've heard it's difficult to bf if you have work done on them. Just something to think about

Try blending soup...I really liked healthy choice beef stew and blend it...it looks gross, but taste really good! And it has high protein. -
I couldn't feel a thing...except a little pressure...My Dr gave me a little shot to numb the area, he gave it to me next to my main incision site, which was nice because I haven't regained feeling there, and then he took a larger needle to put the fluid in... it felt a little odd when the needle went in the port... but it did not hurt. I was so worried about this, and it was a breeze! Now I just hope I feel more restriction. I was beginning to eat myself out of house and home! In fact I gained 4lbs from my last Dr visit (I went off liquids right after that appt). I'll find out today if this fill is helping... I brought a lean quizine for lunch... I have my next appt in 6wk, but if I don't feel anything I may call and see if they can get me in earlier.

My ex husband is from Liberia...Be careful! They are truely smooth talkers... and most of them like round women I'm saying be careful because mine divorced me 2mths after he got his greencard. My Dr didn't tell me how much but I heard him tell the nurse in was 1.5.

I posted all about it on Support line...but it was great. I didn't feel a thing and my dr didn't use floro. I was really worried, but I don't think I will be anymore

Poor girl! It can be rough when you start dieting. I agree with the other girls, that you need to really look at what you are eating. You need protein, fat and carbs, just try to eat the right ones. If you get off balanced, you really can feel sad and depressed. Goodness knows we've all experienced it when we went on crash diets. Henceforth the name crash! So don't be too discouraged, but do go and get your blood tested. Give yourself a little time and a little attention and I'm sure you will feel better soon.

When you don't get enough calories, your body think your having a fammon (sorry for the spelling) and starts holding onto every calorie you give it. Up your protein and get at least 1200 calories a day... you may want to look into a food program. I just had my first fill and I'm going to try weight watchers. Since I can't bindge like I use to, I think it will be very benificial.

My Dr said to do liquids for that day... then slowly try other foods... working your way up.

Do u forget u have banded or is it always on you mind?
aileena replied to rene2005's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Right now I'm so new, I'm still obsessed with my band. But I really can't feel it, other than when I eat. I think over time, I'll forget. -
I didn't have one...They just had me pee before going in I guess it's your Dr's preference. Maybe you could ask not to have one.
-
I don't even have a fill yet and bread is painful! It's the only food I can feel restriction on.

Jack you are just too smart! -
I heard a few years ago, people getting RX's for an antidepresent, to help them with weight loss. I can't remember which one it is though. Does anyone else remember?

Why would you need your gall bladder removed in conjuction to being banded?
-
On day one I was pretty drugged up, but when I tried to get up or down my pain was probably about a 7. On day two, I didn't use as much drugs and pain was about an 7 or 6 when I was trying to get up. After that it stayed around a 5 for a couple of days, but I didn't use any drugs. It was painful, any surgery is. But it was completely worth it.

After your banding what foods were the hardest to eat again? What foods gave you problems and how did they affect you?
