I was basically the same weight on surgery day, 4/1/14. I'm 168 lbs today, my energy levels and general ability to do stuff still amazes me. Best. Decision. Ever. Good luck!

My nut rod me about liquid calcium supplement after surgery, I found it at Walmart. It was orange flavor and I actually loved the taste...

Gas Bubbles without burping
QuinceTucker replied to Megan Kolar's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I have had the same thing since surgery, I'm a year out now, and still have it. It's annoying but I've had no issues at all because of it. Good luck! -
Oddly severe side effects from NSAIDS
QuinceTucker replied to mrchris's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
My doctor also said no NSAIDs at all, only Tylenol... -
Men, 300-400 LBs ..summary of your weight loss please
QuinceTucker replied to Jeffrey Eliot's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hey there, I was sleeved on 4/1/14 and I am down to 193.2 as of today... sig below and all but if your on mobile this may be easier... I agree with everyone here though as well, comparing yourself to other people can be a treacherous undertaking, focus on what is right for you and your body. -
I just wanted to share with people who'd understand! So excited... Haha

Keep plugging away, I too haven't really been able to exercise regularly... I tore something in my hip so even walking wasn't feasible... And I just had a procedure on my heart last week, so still kinda barred from the gym... I religiously followed the diet though which, I think, was my saving grace.

Thanks!

How many incisions (holes) did you have?
QuinceTucker replied to Tashabella's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Yeah, I found it weird too, but I would gladly have 10-15 more unexplained punctures with the results I've had!! haha -

I had 6 (+1 they denied creating but oddly was covered in betadine and glue when I woke up and had not been there before surgery...) -
That's fantastic! Congrats on your success!

I've been to Japan 7 or so times and have never had any problems with my meds, I just took them in their original bottles. As far as food goes, yakitori is a good bet, grilled meat on a stick...obviously there is fish, but there are plenty of healthy options. I also just ignored the rice.

Is aspirin ever ok again?
QuinceTucker replied to Success2013's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I was sleeved 4/1/14 and I was back to taking 325mg Aspirin daily due to a heart condition as soon as I got home. My surgeon was fine with it. I haven't had any problems or complications at all... he did say that I should avoid any additional NSAIDs though. -

Success in those with lifelong struggle?
QuinceTucker replied to thesuse2000's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I'm one of those people too. I've struggled my whole life with my weight. I was scared I wouldn't be successful or would be hungry all the time and miserable. I was sleeved 4/1/14, including my 2 week pre-op diet I'm down 56lbs. I no longer have food on my mind all the time, in fact, I often have to set myself alarms to remind myself it's time to eat so I'm meeting my Protein goals. I don't have those uncontrollable urges anymore either. Used to be that were there a cupcake or donut around I would be first in line in my office (fyi there are ALWAYS cupcakes and donuts in my office) but now I don't even have the urge anymore. This has been the best decision I've ever made and would recommend it to anyone/everyone struggling without reservation or hesitation. Good luck to you! -
I'm in the 3rd week stall too. Also, no scale movement this week either...

Do I ever will be able to have a nice cup of coffe in the morning again?
QuinceTucker replied to Anajulia's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was ok'd for decaf on my liquids phase and had no trouble at all, of course after about 2-3 ounces I was stuffed and ended up tossing the rest. Everyone's different I guess. I also made a decaf coffee flavored Gelatin and topped with a splash of ff creamer, which was really good and gave me the coffee flavor... -
What is it like when you wake up from surgery?
QuinceTucker replied to nickig2g's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I, too, was a little groggy. No nausea or vomiting, I did have a patch before surgery just in case. Minor pain, nurse kept asking if I needed pain meds but really only wanted it when I was trying to sleep. I was up and walking within an hour with no problem. Didn't even need the pain meds when I got home... Good luck! -

April 2014 sleevers
QuinceTucker replied to CassandraCorner's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Hey all! Surgery went well on the 1st, I was up and waking around with no problems and only had a little pain, luckily. Discharged yesterday and haven't needed the pain meds except at bed. I'm still amazed that I've had no "real" food since Monday night and I'm not even hungry... Now comes the hard part, changing my habits and my mindset! -
