Bless me bandsters, for I have sinned
soccerdad replied to sleepyjean's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I feel your pain, Sleepyjean. I've been banded since June 18 and have only lost 14 lbs. It's my fault too. I recognize it and I agree with musicalmomma :violin:that just posting is the first step. My learning curve on a new lifestyle is taking longer than I anticipated. An acquaintance of mine was banded about a 45 days before me has lost about 40 lbs. I'm embarased :embarassed: about my situation when I see him. But this post is not about me! You will get back on the band wagon. Everyone "sins" in the weightloss process. Just don't beat yourself up and get over it. Go for a walk, take a drive (I like to drive around the local lake and sit by the Water to think and meditate), do something to break the routine of sitting around the house with nothing to do but graze. Firt of all take musicalmomma's :violin:advice and forgive yourself. If you are religious, use your faith and God's love to move forward. Just do something different! I'll pray for you. -
Good idea on tracking calaories. My next appointment is 9/19. I was hoping this second fill would do the trick. Thanks for the tip.

I just joined the site a few days ago. I've been reading like crazy and was glad to see an area for men. I was banded on June 18 2007 (My son's 10th birthday). I've had two fills and have only lost 14 pounds. I feel like I'm following the plan, smaller meals, smaller bites, no drinking before, during, and after meals, etc... I'm excersing a bit, but not aggressively. I coach my children's soccer teams three nights a week and have an active lifestyle. Any advice on how to kick things up a notch. I am committed to making this work.

Considering Lap Banding... Very seriously.
soccerdad replied to PCGIRL's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I considered lap band for about 7 to 8 months before I made the decision to have the surgery. Once I made the committement and had the first consult I went through a major depression. I felt like I was a failure because nothing else worked and now I needed to alter my body to achieve good health. I had surgery in late June and have had 2 fills. I still get down a bit here and there because the weight loss is going slow for me, but I do not regret the decision to have surgery. Be patient and you will loose weight, but you have to be committed to making major lifestyle changes. That depressed me to.
