I had my band installed Aug 16 and did not have any pain control. I ended up in the hospital last night and was given a swallow test (drinking some awful tasting stuff and x ray to see if it went past the band). Shortly thereafter I started going to the toilet and after a long night I took some imodium when I got home. The pain disappeared!! But will it come back if I am not having regular bowel movements. I am afraid to eat and afraid not to eat - still supposed to be on liquids. Thanks for your help.

Liquid Vitamins ????
clancy replied to hazeleyegrl1's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I bought the store brand chewable vitamins and some chewable calcium. I still have four prescriptions that I need to take each day. At 4 wks after banding I can chop them into pieces and swallow some in the morning and the rest at night. -
How much weight did you lose before your first fill?
clancy replied to lawanda jessica's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was banded Aug. 16 and now at 4 wks I've lost 22lbs if I include pre-op diet its about 35lbs. I'm due for first fill Sept. 28 and I'm not hungry. Actually I feel stuffed all the time and eat very little. Do you think the doctor will do the fill? -
looking for doctor in toronto canada
clancy replied to puppy's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I was banded Aug. 16 by Dr. L Tin, chief of surgery at Credit Valley Hospital in Mississauga for $15,000 which includes fills. I was released from hospital the same day. There isn't any dietician or nutritionist followup but Dr. Tin was very helpful about eating etc. I think I can find out anything I need to know about diet from this forum. -
I was reading how some people recover quickly. Not me though. I have diarrhea every other day with pain beginning shortly after I wake up and have any type of liquid for breakfast. I spent 4 days back in the hospital last week (all tests were normal) but nothing has changed. I can't get more than one shake in a day with about 8 oz of the recommended soups. I try to walk a fair bit too. The pain makes my stomach and abdomen feel like they will explode. I also have that lump in my throat. I'm due to go back to work Sept. 4 and am worried I won't be able to handle it. Has anyone else felt like this? What did you do?
