I am a very lucky girl, who has been blessed with a husband who loves me for who I am no matter what, so with his support and God's guidance, I decided to fix my life from the inside out. I had never thought this would be an option, but after seeing 3 people get the operation and have great results, then see even more people at work get the same operation and results, I committed to have the Gastric Bypass. Things happened pretty quickly after seeing the surgeon, I then went to the primary care doctor, psychologist and dietitian. The hardest part was just then being diagnosed with Diabetes, which was one of the hardest things to accept. Especially due to it being one of the reasons my primary doctor had said may require me to postpone the surgery. But I completely changed my diet, cut out all sugars and carbs about 4 weeks before the surgery and started taking insulin and metformin. Two weeks before the surgery, my glucose levels were regulated. I thought everything was falling into place, when in the afternoon of Feb 12, two days before my surgery, my surgeon's office said my primary care doctor needed to see me to clear me for surgery, but of course he was closed the following day. Thank God, the primary care doctor was able to see me early on Feb 14 and cleared me for surgery, so the day of the operation was a blur. I had not though I would be getting it, because I did not want to get my hopes up, but it all fell into place! =)
I am about 4 days post of and am feeling sooo much better than the first few days, exciting for what may come!!! =)
