April 2014 Post-op
green*eyed*girl replied to w8loser's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am 1 week out, on pureed food since day 4. I have no problem with any food, I still love and enjoy food and eating! lol I try to get in all my liquids, most of the days I am successful, I do not pay attention to my Protein intake as of yet, I just enjoy being done and over with the surgery. I had minimal pain even after surgery and by now my pain is gone, drains are out, and I can even sit up from laying down without any pain. I know I am very lucky. I wish everybody a quick recovery!!! Skinny summer here I come -
I Need help, im getting discouraged. 6 days post surgery.
green*eyed*girl replied to Nick Edwards's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am 5 days out and I was already on pureed food yesterday. I was sooooo glad to finally eat something because I was really starving. I can tolerate everything and I still enjoy food but I can only eat small portions. Do not worry, weight will come off, no way with eating this much (I think my cat eats more!!) plus malabsorption we are destined for skinny land! -
April 2014 pre-op group
green*eyed*girl replied to KristinaRnY's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi Everybody! My surgery is tomorrow on April 14th. I was going to get the sleeve but due to GERD me and my doctor decided that the bypass is a better choice for me. I am not nervous as of yet. I just wanna be over and done with this! I did not have any pre-op diet, so I guess it did not sink in yet! lol By the way I am European, and my surgery is going to be in Hungary. Is there anybody else on the 14th? Honestly I really educated myself on sleeve and not on bypass, so I still have lots of catching up to do as far as post-op diet goes... -
I am here to say goodbyes to my April 14th sleeve sisters, I am getting the bypass due to my GERD my doc recommended bypass and I feel I have to trust his expertise. I wish you all the best and great success on your journey! xxx

How my ladies are doing with the pre-op diet? I hope everybody is doing great! 12 days to go!!!!

Think about smoking every day...
green*eyed*girl replied to AR40's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yeah, I feel your pain. Today is my second day of not smoking and I would like to be more strict on my diet but I feel like I am constantly nibbling on something coz all I wanna do is smoke!!!! This is really hard. My surgery is on the 14th of April, and I think I will not smoke, I have to be strong, and I think after the surgery I will not want to smoke, and maybe this whole thing gets easier by the time I am out of the hospital. I pray that it gets easier! Quitting is really a b*tch Try to stay strong. We got this! -

Time is flying, ladies, did you think about how lucky we are to have this opportunity to do this? To get this help and lose this awful burden??? I am so ready! Come on 14th, hurry up!

I do not have to do pre-op diet, but I have decided to do it anyways, well, not a liquid diet (sorry @@CurvyCakes ) but just a low carb high protein diet. Also portion control. I do not mind the diet but I quit smoking today, and oh my life, it is hard, all I want is a cigarette gots to be strong!!!!!

Vitamin deficiency?
green*eyed*girl replied to green*eyed*girl's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Do we need the extra B12? I mean there is already B12 in the multivitamin... I hate the smell of it, it makes me gag Thanks for the suggestions, I will plan my vitamin intake very carefully. -
Vitamin deficiency?
green*eyed*girl replied to green*eyed*girl's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Thanks elfnow. Very eye-opening! I never thought taking vitamins are such work and complicated. I will really need to get organized as of now I'm not even strict on taking that 1 multivitamin that I'm suppose ... This article made me very confused...I thought stats are better 5 years out but I guess not... -

April 14th I Become A Sleever
green*eyed*girl replied to CurvyCakes's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I am very nervous, plus on a different forum everybody is talking about the bypass being the best choice and with sleeve I will gain back. I know I will not but these are the last things I need to hear now. I wish April 14th was tomorrow just to be done and over with this! How are you ladies holding on? Do you have to do pre-op diet? -

green*eyed*girl replied to jacquelynndiaz's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Oh how sad is that... You were doing so well, lost over 40pounds already! In life sometimes you have to be selfish and put yourself first. When was the last time you really took care of yourself? Don't let him detour you! I say go for it, do it for yourself and everything else will fall into it's places... -
Congrats on your date, see you on the loser's bench soon!

green*eyed*girl replied to 1Day1Life4Now's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Although I am not sleeved yet, as my surgery date is coming up I'm putting more and more thoughts into what am I going to eat? I do not want to make bad choices. Agreed with LipstickLady on not eating low fat foods. Other then the taste is really yuk, without an adequate amount of fat in your diet, your body is unable to effectively absorb the fat-soluble Vitamins that are essential to your health.(A,D,K & E) Also, I am a carb girl. I know this, and I have to get ready to stop myself and say no to refined carbs. I can do this with the help of complex carbs: Here is a quick list: 1.Fruits and Vegetables (potatoes,Beans, carrots, zucchini, cucumber, prunes, apples.tomatoes, onion, strawberries ect) 2.Whole Grains (rice, corn, wheat, barley, oats ect) 3.Whole grain Breads and Pasta 4.Nuts, Seeds and Legumes (lentils, split peas, soybeans, kidney beans ect) 5.Dairy Products -
My mom won't stop telling people...
green*eyed*girl replied to LWren's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
That is exactly my story too, and my mom strongly encouraged not to share with anybody. Smart woman, love her so much, she helps me with my journey tremendously! I feel for all of you, it must be horrible. It is really a big life change and a lot to deal with, the last thing I would want to do is keep explaining myself to everybody and listen to their comments :/ -
