  1. Oh one more thing. Where ever you decide to go they will take you whether it TJ or Mexicali or anywhere in between. Of course if you go to Panama or Cancun you wouldn't fly into San Diego.
  2. Oh you must have a passport to return back into the US.
  3. First do your research and find a good surgeon. Call email and get all the info you can get from them. They will be helpful depending on who you choose. You will fly to SAN and they will pick you up take you to the hospital for preop testing then to the hotel and get first thing next morning for surgery. Usual stay is 3 days. Then they discharge you drive you back to SAN and off you go.

    Hurts to eat/swallow

Do you know someone with a keurig? My keurig makes the best tea and with a little Truvia it's the bomb.

    H Pylori

Yeah doc said its a cocktail of meds. 3 different antibiotics and a strong PPI. He said sometimes it's too much for your new stomach to handle. I guess the little critters are hard to get rid of. I'm not even on solid foods yet so taking some harsh bacteria eaton drugs may not sit well. That's my guess. I'm still worried to let it sit around in there though and I never thought that it may be the reason I'm at a stall. I just assumed it was a normal 3 week stall maybe it's the H Pylori? I wonder if there is home remedies? I read on a post from another site to eat baked garlic and that kills it?? Anybody heard that?

    Questionable post op diet

Yeah that seems weird. I got 1/2 cup of apple juice, 1/2 cup of gatoraid and 1/2 cup of tea. On the 2nd day. The 3 rd day I got a little chick. Broth.

    Hurts to eat/swallow

I'm almost 3 weeks out and it still hurts me a lot. I still need pain meds. I'm a baby. Water doesn't go down easy and the burping and bubbling is so annoying I just don't want to eat at all.

    wish I never did it

It's been so difficult for me too. People say its so easy no pain no gas feel great up walking exercising so happy!! Well that's not the case for everybody. I've been struggling. I'm still struggling I wish I didn't do this, I say this to myself all the time. People say they are not hungry. Well I'm hungry all the time and everything hurts on the way down even water. I also ended up in the ER. People tell me this is the hardest part it will get better. It's not really getting better!! Maybe we just have to wait 6 months to a year to get as close to normal as we can. I don't know. The only thing that even remotely makes me happy is the scale, but now at 3 weeks it has stopped. So there's no happiness about anything now. I know where you are coming from I think this sux! Bigtime! I only want to sleep and stay in bed and never get up.
  12. Are you burbing a lot? Do little bubbles come out when liquid goes down? I can't drink too much because of this. It's quite annoying, anybody know when it stops?
  13. I know right? That's the 64 million dollar question... My mom made some homemade chicken broth but left the chicken in there, it was so soft and tatsty and it was just a small piece and it melted right in my mouth, I really didn't thing it would do any harm... I guess that is why they have these rules and you have to stick to it... I absolutely thought I was going to DIE I stayed in agonizing pain over night until I couldn't take it anymore and went to the ER the next day.. got hooked up to the pain meds the IV fluids and then the endoscopy.. I delayed my healing for at least a week or more due to that stupid action. I'm still nervous as anything even with eating Jello. The pain is so vivid. Leave it to me... don't try this at home folks!

    Pain when drinking/eating

I am at 15 days out and I'm just out of that pain feeling. I think it takes about that long for the swelling to go down. I had to get a shot of Toradol early on around day 5 or 6 for some relief.

    Feeling too full

Thanks for the good laugh ladies
  17. Well you are not in the ER so you are fine!! I ate a small piece of chicken on day 4 and ended up in the ER. Not fun and I was in so much pain.

    Horrible taste

I think it's ketosis. No carbs makes your body go I to ketosis and everything tastes medicinal. It's gross.

    Anyone have a bad day?

I was nauseous at day 4 or 5 I went to the doc got a shot of Toradol and a script for Zofran. I felt better in a jiffy.

How to get more fluids in - tip.

The problem is the pain. I usually have to spit the last sip out because I cannot judge how many sips are comfortable for me. Thanks for the counting tip. I'll try that.
  22. Just wondering if anyone out there doesn't have to take their PPI anymore? I'm on everyday and night for 3 months. Ugh!
  23. Please let us know what your doc says. I am curious. I get caffeine headaches so I think I'm going to just have a tiny cup of coffee anyway. I only drink 2 sips anyway and I'm full.

Do you take PPI for life?

Prevacid. Prilosec. Nexium. Acid reflux medicine. Apparently when your stomach is made smaller you have a harder time keeping stuff down. So medicine is needed. I know I need it and I've never had a problem with acid before.
  25. You can crave all you want. But you will be miserable if you attempt a bite and it doesn't go down properly. Remember you're still swollen and sore. You don't want to do permanent damage.
