In 6 months, 4 months after my surgery, I want to have a clothing exchange. Bring a bag of clothing in good condition that doesn't fit anymore, and leave with a bag that does fit! Exchange stories and tips and support each other and have fun! Anyone from Vegas area out there who would like to meet up? Size 16 right now. So October is the month for the first clothing exchange/support group meeting. ☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆

My mom just told me she was diagnosed with diabetes, high blood pressure and arthritis. She told me that it runs in our family and that my great grandma died of diabetes. Fabulous. Wish these 6 months would go by already so that I can start my journey! June hurry up! Sleep study nutritionist consult and blood work left.
-
What I meant is that normally I would be getting my sleeve surgery in June. I still have my sleep study to do and blood work and nutritionist consult. If the doctor thinks it is necessary to operate on my gallbladder before June, would they move ahead with the sleeve at that time?

My mom won't stop telling people...

Thank you. I just wish I could help my mom be better and healthier. I love her so much. Can't bear the thought of the day she is gone. -
My mom won't stop telling people...
jdillon replied to LWren's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I'm not so worried about who my mom tells but rather what she thinks and how it affects her. Before she retired one of the ladies at her work had gastric bypass. She got real sick and was unsuccessful with her weight loss. She actually gained weight. So now this is what she has in her mind when she hearts wls. Today my mom tells me how she went to the Dr. And has been diagnosed with diabetes and high blood pressure and arthritis. My great grandma died of diabetes. I wanted to tell her about how in June I will be getting the sleeve surgery done . I wanted to share with her all the stories and people I've met who have been successful and who are not sick anymore because of surgery . But I felt her out a little and brought up a friend of mine from my job who had the sleeve a year ago and how he had health issues last year that have disappeared along with over 100lbs. She said that she completely disagrees with surgery and it's dangerous. I couldn't tell her. Maybe after I've had surgery and shown how it works and that I am OK afterward she'll look at it differently. ?? I don't want her to be sick and I don't want to die from diabetes some day. But I don't want her to worry about me on top of her stress with her health. -

Wow that's great! Continued success! ♡ -
I know it's not the vitamins because it started before I decided to try vitamins.

I have not had surgery yet but food has lost its flavor to me? Things I used to love to eat does not taste like it used to and also makes me sick. What's up with that? I guess for whatever reason this is happening, it will make it easier to give up those things after surgery.

I'm not taking any meds but I am taking vitamins. Biotin. b12. fenugreek. I think it started after my upper GI

June 2014 post op
jdillon replied to Mrs. Goodridge's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I should be in June sometime. My insurance requires blood work done. That will be done two months prior to surgery and when that comes back, then they will give me a surgery date. What are your feelings right now? I am excited and anxious. I wish it was time now. -

Wow. Truly inspirational. Thank you for sharing -
My husband wants to go camping in June. My surgery is in June. Is it unrealistic to have surgery , take off two weeks from work , and spend the second half of the second week camping? Not Tent camping. We have a camper. What do you all think?

Telling people Im having weight loss surgery.
jdillon replied to karinbuck's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have about 8 people in my store that have had the sleeve or the band. So telling people that I work with was mostly easy. They were all thinking that my bmi would not be high enough to get approved. I am borderline 40 Bmi. Our bookkeeper is 2 wks post op and is really supportive and wanting to share everything with me to help prepare me and help me when I finally get a date for surgery. Telling my family is another story. When would it be the best time if ever to tell them? I know they are going to freak out and try to talk me out of it. Especially my mom. Is it best to wait until after the surgery? I do not know how to handle this at all. I don't want to keep it from them but at the same time I know what will come from telling them. I am leaning towards after surgery. -
Anyone out there heard of this or take it?

BMI exactly 40, will I be denied if i lose any weight?
jdillon replied to missmee's topic in Insurance & Financing
OK so based on what number 12 says if a year from surgery I lose say 80lbs. And I suffer from skin problems such as rashes and infections and document it the insurance will cover skin removal?
