    Surgery day tomorrow !

So excited for you. You will do great!
  2. Omg everyone says it goes by fast but I am still waiting. I know it's necessary for so many reasons and required by insurance but I am going crazy wishing it was my turn already. Looking at July not June now. I know the day will eventually be here and I will be on here posting a new thread that I will be going in for surgery and months later posting before and after photos. I know that one year later I will be celebrating my one year surgiversary right here with all of you. I know that I will be going through my clothes and throwing out these size 16 and xxlg shirts. The most comforting thing I know is that you all will be here to help me get through this journey successfully! I have friends here who will advise me and guide me with their first hand experience and knowledge. Thank you ahead of time. You all are the bravest greatest most admirable people in the world. You are all truly beautiful people. Thank you

    Surgery day tomorrow !

Yay! How exciting. Good luck to you and be excited not nervous! I'm one day closer but not till July! You're going to do great
  4. Las Vegas area. I have 6 months diet and all kinds of requirements Yay
  5. Independence Day awesome! How does everyone know their surgery date so far in advance? I can't even have my blood work done until two months before surgery.
  6. I saw my Dr in January the first time. Thursday is another follow up appointment. I've done the psychiatric evaluation. Upper gi . The seminar explaining all of my options. The stress test. An ultrasound. And the sleep study. All I have left if blood work and the nutritionist consult. They did find out that I have gallbladder disease and need it removed and a hiatal hernia that needs repaired. Lots to do before the big day. I look at all the before and after photos and read all the success stories and get so motivated and excited! I can't wait to be posting my very own before and after pics! June sometime. My journey will begin. I pray I have great success! Ready to work for it.

Stephanierr. Thank you for your reply. I too look forward to hearing of your success. Please stay in touch and send me pictures!
  9. That feeling when a regular bath towel fits around my body When I don't feel like sleeping all day and hiding away from the world Knowing how it feels to go into the dressing room and stand before the mirror in single digit clothing and it fits and looks good People come up to you and say Omg you look great how are you losing weight Not being the fattest person in the room Not cringing when your photo is taken Tank tops in the summer and your arms look good Not having to wear jeans in 120 degree weather Climbing the stairs and not out of breath Being naked in front of my husband and the lights are on Shopping for clothes and the size is not accompanied by an X at all Being able to go to a pool party Knowing I'm eating better and my son will have his mommy that much longer

    Why VSG

Just had my sleep study last night! Only blood work and nut left and then I am done until they give me a date! Then on my way to no more feeling like everyone is looking at me No more of my sister saying she's concerned how my weight goes up and down in front of everyone in the family like it's some kind of intervention My sister was the one with the weight problem growing up and she as an adult forces Herself to throw up and that's how she got thin. She eats then goes to the bathroom instantly. It's sad and dangerous. She says it's food getting stuck in her throat. No more shirts Un tucked if I don't want to No more trying to position the bra better to hide some back fat No more extra clothing layers to hide behind No more tears down this face because of feeling bad about how I look and feeling helpless to change
  12. Yeah my psych evaluation is 50 and nut is 75. But that's it . Everything including surgery is 100% paid. Just got home from sleep study. It's hard to fall asleep on my back and with a stranger in the other room watching you. Lol he said results in one to two weeks and he's about 90% positive I don't need to come back. Now nut appointment and blood work and my list is done. Yay

How are the internal staples removed?

Yeah scar tissue eventually forms over them.
  14. I'm about half way there. I have sleep apnea test to do. I am in the parking lot as we speak lol. Blood tests and nutritionist consult that's it. Oh and they want to remove my gallbladder prior to the sleeve surgery. Yay me. Two surgeries! This is my second attempt to do the sleep test. The first time no one showed up. I sat in a dark parking lot all alone waiting for the tech and took sleeping pills so I would be sleepy. Waited an hour and a half and finally left! Guess I'll know in 10 minutes if it's a go tonight. Better be. Not a side of Vegas someone wants to be alone in!

How are the internal staples removed?

    They're not removed.
  16. What is an example of a slider food?

    Acid Reflex and the Sleeve

I am having my gallbladder removed before my sleeve surgery and during sleeve surgery they are also repairing hiatal hernia. These procedures are supposed to help with the acid reflux I get. Has anyone else had their gallbladder removed prior to surgery? Did it help even after sleeve surgery?

    gallbladder

Thank you. This will be my first surgery ever. I'm a little nervous. I wish I had a second chance to not mess this body of mine up to begin with. It is what it is and time to fix it all now once and for all.

    gallbladder

The Dr said that the stomach is on one side and the gallbladder is on the other and they have different risks and they do not do both at the same time .

THEY WANT TO DO WHAT....HELP ME

You lie down go to sleep wake up feeling groggy then go home that's it

    gallbladder

OK so I had my appointment. I need to have my gallbladder removed. I have gallstones. I also have hiatal hernia. The gallbladder surgery will be a separate surgery from my sleeve and hiatal hernia repair during sleeve. Then when all is said and done I can stop talking 8 excedrin and popping zantac150 like candy every day. So it's a positive I guess. It is a reality if nothing else. Just trying to find the silver lining.

    Why VSG

It is kind of therapeutic isn't it? A kind of confession from the soul and acknowledgement of why we want this or have done this. Not everyone understands or agrees but they sure can't argue our lists are not full of great reasons for wls .
