Is heat good for the Incisions? Or is it ice that should go on it?

They don't give you meds in the hospital for this?

Excellent Thank you. They'll let me have it at the hospital? Or do you mean for when I go home?

Do you mind if I ask what your starting weight was and what your current weight is? How tall are you? I think I look similar to your before shot. You're looking so awesome! -
So funny

I'm only having my gallbladder removed Friday and I'm scared. Gotta be brave and move forward. It's all going to pay off.

I plan on wearing my favorite cozy victorias secret sweat pants. A t shirt and flip flops. When if at all did they take your pre op photo?

Surgery in 2 weeks haven't told my fam.
jdillon replied to Sweetbaby1's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I'm not trying to be secretive and I'm not ashamed of my decision. I'm embarrassed of my health and my body and where I've gotten it to. I don't like it being the focal point of a discussion and say aloud how bad I look. I want to get my surgery follow Dr orders and do something about it. Head down and focused. Every time I try to talk about it like with my husband I feel like crying. I feel like I've let myself down and him. I lost 70lbs and got into sz 10 jeans and looked good and over 2 1/2 years or so I gained it all back almost. It creeped up on me and before I knew it I was back out of control. I hope I can do this and be successful. I hate going up and down on my weight. This just is not how I want to feel or look. My feet are starting to feel like the heel spurs are coming back. I get back pain. My stomach is a mess with most things I eat (probably the gallbladder) ready for a change. -
Good point lol. OK so gown added. Does it need to be something that buttons in the front so that they can check Incisions? Added to my list

Surgery in 2 weeks haven't told my fam.

It's just such a personal thing. Uncomfortable somewhat that my weight problem is to be treated as an open forum of discussion. Then to be judged on my choice to address it. To be told it's the easy way out. Or to be told it's so dangerous why would I do that? Or to have to explain over and over again the process and clear up misconceptions. Uneducated on the differences between the wls options, people often assume you're getting bypass. Nothing wrong with that if it's your choice but frustrating to have to explain. Then I feel like they're looking at me closer and I feel so self conscience already. Forget it. Just my husband my daughter and my niece know and a few people who have gone through it already. I'm not telling anyone else. My mom will worry and freak out. She's wigging out over my gallbladder surgery for Friday as it is. I worry about her with her own things to deal with. Eventually I will explain to her probably but for now you guys are my main support group. Thanks for being there and for understanding. -
Wow. You look fabulous!

OK so number 12 regarding cosmetic surgery. If after the weight loss surgery I am successful and lose a lot of weight and I have skin problems due to excess skin would the skin surgery be covered? What do you think? I have jas local 7 11 (through smith's grocery) anyone out there get approved due to rashes and infections? I've heard of this before. Not sure if that falls under This guide line or not?

insurance and skin surgery coverage

No not yet. But I have some things to turn in for my gallbladder surgery so I figured I'd ask then. -
Yay another July sleever! I don't feel all alone anymore and somehow it feels like it's a lot closer to surgery time now that people are starting to say they are in July too!
-
OK so I've never had surgery ever . I was nervous so I talked about it on here and received support and a lot of people told me about their first hand experiences with that surgery. Most of them said that it's not a hard surgery and one week later they went back to work. Today a girl that works for the same company I do told me she took 6 weeks off and that I shouldn't be rushing back after one week. I can't be out for that long. I am a front end manager at a grocery store. I cashier and am on my feet all day running all over and lift things. I don't lift extremely heavy stuff nothing larger than a 36 pack of beer lol. I don't want complications after because I rushed back. Is one week enough time to go back if I take it easy? Really concerned and scared now.
-
Yay a sleeve buddy. That would be awesome. How do you add friends on here?
-
That's so awesome! Thanks for the recipe idea. I'm starting a file on my computer with these. I haven't had surgery yet. I'm in July sometime. Keep it up you're doing fabulous! What an inspiration to us all.

I haven't had the surgery yet, but I've been told 2 wks is what I'll have off. I think I'm going to try to get 3. I work as a front end manager of a grocery store. I check, handle money for all of the drawers, bounce around like a mad woman, face shelves and dairy, and usually lift nothing heavier than a 12 pack of soda. It's not the most physical job but it keeps me on my feet 90% of my shift or more. I want to be as capable as possible to do my job when I get back. Most of the days I work, I don't even have the luxury of a break we're too busy. I'm worried I won't have time to do the things I need to do to stay on track.
