Nope, that seems about right. I was on precrip form Prilosec for two months but at a month and a half I was having NO acid problems so I asked my doc if I could stop taking it. But take it now because at first when you are banded your tummy makes as much acid as it did before. It has to adjust to the new smaller tummy. So with all that acid you would get reflux REALLY bad. Take the Pepcid for at least a couple months then see. Also, be careful with the Reglan. I also got that prescribed but if you look at the number one side effect? Nausea. Weird. My sis took that stuff and had a TERRIBLE reaction so be careful. However, if you feel nausous be extra careful, now is not the time to throw up. With the Vicoden, take it as long as you need it. Pain management is a VERY CRUCIAL part of healing. You'll know when to stop. I also am on Actigall...that is a longer term thing for when you are losing because losing a lot of weight can mean gallstones and you REALLY REALLY want to keep your gallbladder! So it looks like you are on all the same stuff I am!!

I think you should let *us* be the judge of that.....picture please! I'll get my spectacles on and await your response.

DeLarla's Dating Service for Single Bandsters
giveyouthemoon replied to DeLarla's topic in Singles Forum
Ok...before I sign up...I need to understand....DeLarla...you live in Vegas, right? I live south of San Francisco. Will you be able to find a local match? This is important! -
Restriction is a funny thing. I have only one fill and I'm figuring out that the restriction feeling isn't a constant thing. This month I had my period, I had no restriction, I thought I needed another fill. Now Aunt Flo is gone and suddenly I PB'd on cottage cheese yesterday. All kinds of restriction. It's weird. I'd say if you can wait out the hormonal craze (I'm VERY sorry for your loss by the way) and then you still feel too open then get a fill. You could get a fill now but you may end up TOO tight. It's hard to say. This band is a weird and interesting thing.

As it happened I had an appointment for a teeth cleaning during the liquid phase and I asked the hygenist if I had thrush and she said no. So I guess it really depends huh? As soon as i started eating solids it went right away.
-
I had that exact same thing. Ketosis just gives you funky breath. That furry teeth feeling is because of the liquid diet. You don't have food to chew and help get that off the ol' teeth. I brushed A LOT when on liquids only. I also got a terrible white coat on my tongue. It's normal. Brush your tongue too.

Wearing electric blue Avenue brand high cut briefs. Not exactly sexy but good enough to wear out of the house. And a nice lace front closure bra that I got from www.lovefifi.com If you haven't heard about or visited Fifi, I *highly* suggest you do. They have good stuff for all sizes. I was so happy to see a front close bra for my (formerly) size 40D boobies.

Oh man DeLarla....now I *know* I dig you....Jack Kerouac is a much fave of mine. "On The Road" is just....just.....mind boggling. Love it. And living near San Francisco, I go to the City Lights bookstore (where Jack and other beat writers used to hang out in the '50's) and I feel the history there and it never fails to GEEK ME OUT. I don' know nuthin' about them there guys that Francesca mentioned tho....

Ain't a jury that would convict. "Exhibit A your honor....Karen's stick in the mud ex...." Jury would go "ooooooohhhh....not guilty" Well....erm...okay, no dancing huh? That usually wears me out enough so I can drop into the ol' bed. Hell, looks like Miss Anty Panty isn't sleeping ANYWAY! Do you have any of DeLarla's toys? THAT should relax you! <giggle>

I'd say that the essence of your dream is that you feel having the band is "too good to be true" and thus someone will try to take it away from you. This feels to me less about reality and more about what is going on in that noggin of yours. Fear is a powerful force. And I know having a band can be scary. There are a LOT of emotions that will come up as you lose weight. Go into them, feel them to be able to release them. And if you spend time worrying about your band eroding, you are giving energy to that thought and could manifest it into form. Think instead about how happy and healthy your band is and how wonderful you feel! Be easy on yourself...this is a marathon, not a sprint.

Also Kare, from the book "Crystal Therapy" by Doreen Virtue and Judith Lukomski (both actually wonderful friends of mine) "Harmony is the essence of this stone, which derives its gift in balancing all levels of your being." It also says it will amplify emotions but helps in releasing old karmic ties and helps you let go of old wounds. Powerful stuff! No wonder you feel so good when you wear it!!

burnsun, I have to tell you...I'd just gotten caught up on this thread today and all the photos and tonight was talking to my best friend. She has two girls and was talking about how hard it is to be a mom. Hope you don't mind, but I had to tell her your story. She was like "wow....that woman must be the best mom ever because I don't know what I would have done......." lol. Kids are unbelievable and crazy and weird and fun. And being a parent has got to be the toughest job in the world. I'm not a mom but I have nothing but respect for those who are. My friend said "I don't know...I think I'd just have to strap my kid to the top of the car and go to the car wash!" Glad you were able to laugh at the time....wow. And yeah....as soon as she starts dating, bring out the ol' photo album!!!!!!!

I think it's similar but where rose quartz is a light pink, cherry quartz is a darker pink, but yeah, similar energies. A cherry quartz ring sounds really lovely!! I have a rose quartz pendant that I wear. And yeah, when I wear it I feel happy. Perfect description!!!!

How do I get rid of all this water?
giveyouthemoon replied to Aimze's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Okay...your poor body is just freaking out because something weird happened to it. I was VERY bloaty for several weeks post op. It's just part of the whole process. Just have to bear with it. Also, don't expect your poor body to be trying to lose weight here. Just be patient, please! I know it's tough. I promise that soon enough your body will start throwing off that water it's holding on to and the scale will let you know. Sad for me the way my body finally got rid of water was when I began having terrible diarreah. Not good. Patience, grasshopper!! -
How fast should you be eating? Sloooooooow slooooower sloooowest. It actually sounds to me like your pace is fine. Like Jack I'm amazed you are on soft foods only a week out. Wow. It was 6 weeks for me as well until I could have mushies. Even now with my one fill cottage cheese can get *stuck* if I go too fast so keep it really slow. You are still healing and you SO do not want a PB now and the potential for a PB is very high because you are still swollen from surgery. Sloooooooooow.

The Coolest Thing Happened Today....
giveyouthemoon replied to Margo's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Wowowowowow! That is one amazing kid you have there!! Give that girl a hug and a high five for me. She "gets' it and that is wonderful. Mad props to mom and dad too for raising such a smart kid! I'm in awe! -
My doc required a less than one year old pap smear so yeah, I had to get the whole shootin' match done. Different docs vary. Your doc should give you a piece of paper with all the tests he nees that you can give to your primary care doc (if they aren't the same doctor). You'll also need a psych exam and a letter probably.
-
Nope. Not a'tall. Just talking about the care of crystals. Personally I love rose quartz. It's to help me with feeling a sense of self love. Gems and crystals have had meanings assigned to them for years.
-
No...you have to clean them with intention. Hold the intention that you are simply cleaning out the old, dark, or stale energy. Your stones and crystals are attuned to you, they won't forget. You are just giving them a cosmic dust cleaning. Setting objects under the full moon is a good way to recharge them, esp crystals. Personally, I prefer setting them out in the sun. Can't explain why, I just like the energy it brings.

I participate on another board where they call that a "whoosh". So congrats on your whoosh!!!!!! My doc said this too, that losing weight is like stair steps and not a steady decline. This is how my weight comes offf too. Nothing for a while then this incredible free fall of a couple pounds. It may have been your trip to Vegas because sometimes eating (and drinking) differently shakes things up in the ol' system and causes it to let go.
