My insurance has an exclusion policy so there goes that option. Financing would be needed. Does anyone know of a company that finances wls for people with poor credit?
-
That's a good idea. I'll check into that.
-
Unfortunately, that is not an option.

I have my first consultation with the surgery center tomorrow. I have a feeling that my insurance won't cover the surgery and I know I won't be able to get financing, I want this surgery but if insurance won't pay, what are my options? Save up for Mexico?
-
Thank you. I just have the jitters. The center did say they would help negotiate with the ins co but I just want this to be approved.
-
Mexico May be an option for me...did you go through Medical Tourism Co or how did you decide?
-
Cbwalker....you sound, weight wise, about where I am. I am so nervous that bcbs mo won't cover surgery but you just gave me some hope. I sooooo hope they pay, otherwise I have to save and go to Mexico.

I just can't decide. Any thoughts?

I have my first consultation in 10 days but I don't know what that means for timing of surgery. The doctor office said they will verify and push for insurance coverage but I don't know if I'll have to do tests and if so which ones. I just want to do this already!!! I want out of this body! -
I've read a lot of posts about people having to take 6-12 month classes before their surgery. Does everyone have to do that? Is it an insurance thing? Thanks.

Any sleevers with low BMI Range 32-35
Lmcagain replied to Back2BnPetite's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I'm at 34 BMI, and want to lose about 70 lbs. I have my consult in 3 weeks and am hoping I get accepted. I'd rather do the sleeve than the band so keeping my fingers crossed. I'll let you know what they say if you're interested. Also will someone tell more about the Mexico option if I get denied? -

Which one? I was thinking band but a friend is having hers removed in favor of the sleeve. Now I'm questioning which is best. Hopefully I'll get some good answers when I have my first consult. That isn't until March 18 though.

I'm researching lap band surgery. I have at least 70 lbs to lose and have tried everything. What worries me is the psychological "need" or urge to eat even when not hungry. I guess it is the habit of eating rather than eating for fuel that I'm worried I'll still do and defeat the purpose of the surgery. Any thoughts on how to combat this?

Thanks everyone. I appreciate the advice.
