Did you name your band? :D

I call it the leash for my dog. I look at it this way some dogs can be walked w/o a leash. My "dog" needed leash training. "sit" "stay" "full" "leave it". Good girl. LOL

    hiccups after I drink water

I'll get hiccups if my beverage is too hot or too cold. Guess my "leashed dog" (a.k.a. stomach) only wants tepid drinks. Weird
  3. Did you ever sit in your old house and think, 'I'd love to redecorate' or 'move things around'? While moving is a tough transition, you can always visualize all the cool ways your new place can look. Cruise through the mall or thrift stores and look for neat little decorative items or new curtains or bedding to make your new place feel like you've moved into your own handcrafted palace. Best wishes.

    "3 week stall"

I do use MFP. Primarily to track my protein intake. I also like to watch any trends in my eating habits to see if I am drifting towards bad habits again. I realize it's not for everyone, but right now I feel like it acts like training wheels while I get used to my new band life. It also is useful when I go visit my nut to show her so she can give me specific advice. BTW B-52 you are an inspiration in showing that bansters can be successful, even long term. Way to go!
  5. I am a little over 3 weeks out and I have tenderness in my port area. ( that sounds weird to say LOL) I know it's normal, particularly when bending or lying (or is it laying?) face down. Just wondering what experienced bansters can tell me as to an average length of time for this type of tenderness. Do you have any difficulties with crunches? Does it in any way restrict movement or lifting ability? Etc..

Port area tenderness, for how long?

Because liquor store are state run in NH I was required to accept light duty for a week. So I've been back to work for a week and a half. All good though, being assistant manager has perks. Getting help is easy, I have a great crew to work with. Very supportive. Lots of bending makes my midsection kinda tender so, I ask them to stock bottom shelf items.

Port area tenderness, for how long?

Good info I work at a liquor store where I move cases that weigh between 25 and 60 pounds routinely throughout the day it's nice to know that others have been able to continue work as normal..
  8. Definitely found that I was the only one in my pre-surgery "behavior modification classes" getting the band. I like the additional accountability. My surgery team explained that the band just requires more up-keep. Many people don't like that. Well I'm the exception. I want this to work. I viewed it this way. Some dogs can be walked without a leash. My dog (stomach) needed a leash to assist with my training. So rather than an invasive surgery, I chose the leash. Therefore I am in control of my choices and I feel better knowing that. It's up to me to do the work.
  9. Banded January 28th. Back to work full duty. Lost 32 pre-op. And lost 13 post-op so far. Glad to have January friends.

    "3 week stall"

Thanks everyone for the input. I especially loved your comment TERRI-D. Made me laugh. It's just nice to know what's normal and when I should talk to the surg about adjustments.
