    New from MN

I'm new here too. You have done well to find this site before your surgery. You will do very well with the support everyone can offer here. As well meaning as friends and family can be- it is different when you can talk to someone that has gone through it. The liquid diet isn't so bad and it really does prepare your body for the surgery as the reduced calories help to burn some of the fat pad around your liver and this will make your surgery a little easier for the surgeon. You will never appreciate yogurt and mashed potatoes so much when you finally get to that stage! I am a nuse and have experienced this surgery from both sides and I can tell you that a positive attitude is 99% of it. Just keep moving as soon as you can after the surgery! Good Luck and God Bless!

banded in Feb07 new to the group

Unfortunately I can eat anything. This last week I have felt like there is a golf ball in my throat and I can still eat. I was suppose to get an adjustment today but my teenage son had a bicycle accident and fractured his skull in two places so we had to rush home and miss my appointment. Now I won't get in until October because of scheduling with the NP that does the fills. So frustrated. I have not lost a pound since the beginning of June. It took forever to get this appointment. My son is more important of course but I just want to get things moving again.

    Anyone from Minnesota???

St.Joseph's ? I am from MN, not sure where St. Joseph's is though. I had mine at Fairview University
  6. I was banded at Fairview University in MN, by Dr. Kellogg on Feb 07. I am a mother of 3 teenagers and I have lost 30 so far and wish I had known about this group much sooner. I have never had many of the problems that I hear that people face, but my weight loss has been very slow. I have an appointment in 2 days to have my second fill. Since day one I have never been nauseated or thrown up and I have never felt full or any restriction. I am really concerned that this isn't going to work for me. My husband had a DS a month after my surgery and he has already lost 105 pounds. I know that men lose faster but I am concerned that this may have been a mistake. I am so worried that I have stretched my pouch or did something because in the past couple days I feel like I have a frog stuck in my throat. Nothing makes it better or worse and I can still eat and drink. Has anyone else experienced this? I am so glad I found this group and maybe I can get back on track now.:help:
