Did anyone Not lose weight during pre-op
Jaime_Boston replied to sweetcheeks14's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm scheduled for 3/18. I'm 18 pounds down and have 12 to go. My surgeon was pretty adamant that I drop 30 before. We are only benefitting ourselves for time of surgery. I don't want to find out that I can't have it on 3/18 so I'm just continually working towards it. Good luck -
Has anyone tried Isopure Protein Drinks?
Jaime_Boston replied to Aunt GG's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A

Great job sticking to it! You look awesome! -
Hi everyone - As I began all my pre op tasks I found this awesome book written by a patient who has documented her journey from before to after sleeve surgery. As many of you know - there isn't much literature about sleeve since it's still considered a newer procedure. I really recommend her book. It's a quick 7 chapter easy read and cheap on amazon kindle Book info: Losing It Anne Andrews

30 days till Sleeve surgery
Jaime_Boston replied to Jaime_Boston's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Hi Debra, I love just south of Boston. I'm working with the Surgical Weight Loss Center of MA out of Norwood. Dr. Glasgow -
All kinds of mixed emotions now that it's approaching in 30 days. I refused to be like many patients who eat whatever they want all the way up until liquid diet time. I've been eating healthy and smaller portions since December. I've managed to lose some pre op weight so that's good. liquid diet starts in 20 days. Good thing I love my shakes! Any suggestions, advice, feedback?

30 days till Sleeve surgery
Jaime_Boston replied to Jaime_Boston's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I drink 64 oz of Water most days. Water us weighing everything I eat. I use an awesome food journal app called "my net diary". Scan barcode a of the food you are eating and the app uploads all nutritional value. I allow myself 1200 calories right now - and I'm able to SEE the day progress. I know how to choose better since I can see where I'm at each day with cal/far/protein/sugar/carbs Etc. I'm insulin resistance - so losing weight has always been very minimal for me, but by eating 3 meals / meeting my nutritional goals everyday , combined with Aqua Zumba, taking my medicine when needed, and knowing if I don't lose this recommended amount of weight surgery will be postponed.... Everything combined has contributed to losing approx 18 pounds since January (earlier post said December). I also posted the shake I'm using. I use once in the AM And sometimes to minimize the stress of what to eat for lunch, I'll have another Protein shake. It's all natural and tastes good. I brought it with me to My nutritionist appointment and asked if it was " acceptable" - and it was actually better than what they were suggesting. I realize this has been a long reply! Would love to chat if you are looking for any ideas. It's def important to follow the pre op dietary plans - surgery complications are much lower from what I've read. -
So I've been using a Protein shake for the last 6 months that I love. I actually brought it with me to my nutritionist appt and it was better than the bariatric shake suggestions!! Nutritional value and taste! 26g protein in 1 serving So I wanted to share since I've been reading about everyone's shake nightmares. Slim Fit by Numedica. Dutch chocolate www.naturalhealinghouse.com

Highly recommended shake
Jaime_Boston replied to Jaime_Boston's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Have you tried that one? Not sure if you have but this one is enjoyable. I've only ever used the Dutch chocolate, so that's what I can speak for. :-) definitely glad you'll share this with others! That was definitely what I wanted from this thread. Front label below for anyone else looking. -
Highly recommended shake

Naturalhealinghouse.com $45 for a large container, lasts me about two weeks Promo code HEALTH for free shipping Bummer you can't use it. I don't know WHAT I'll do if they change their mind but this is an all natural shake, my preference and they gave me the green light. I know that after surgery I won't be drinking a 12oz shake so I'll only be getting a third of what the nutrition is. -

How did you handle telling everyone about your surgery
Jaime_Boston replied to vincereautmori's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I didn't read through all responses but I started out by telling family and slowly began telling my closest friends. It's a form if support that I believe you need in order to go through this! Good luck!
