How much walking should i be doing?
Jaime_Boston replied to karinbuck's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Question about walking and gas. Even at post op day 5 would more walking move this gas out of my neck/shoulder??? -
Ok new pain - below my incisions I've got a horrible pain around the left abdomen. Called the surgeon and he said I could just be too active but without a fever and nausea, he's not worried. On top of that tomorrow is post op day 7 and the gases went to my shoulder and it's throbbing!!!! Any relief ideas???

Sleeved on 18th updates: gas is still settled in left shoulder. Incision areas are very sore but to be expected. Fluid intake is going well. 8oz at a time sipped slowly over an hour are working for me (water, crystal light, propel zero, or protein shake). The liquids don't stay in our new pouch but pass right through unless they are thick liquids. My dr. allows for thin oatmeal, Greek yogurt and sf pudding. So in between all the liquids I do 1 yogurt a day and maybe a broth / blenderized soup for dinner. The toughest part is trying to determine if the weird stomach noises are hunger or full.. I keep reminding myself that the liquids aren't filling the pouch unless I drink really fast.

How much walking should i be doing?
Jaime_Boston replied to karinbuck's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm post op day 5. I've been doing about 1/4 very slowly. Or approx 15 min walk. I think it depends on how you are healing and feeling... -
Hi ladies As we all know, one of the many effects of obesity is irregular monthly cycles. I'm still pre op, but I've lost approx 30 pounds and have had a continual cycle since I am continuing to lose. Surgery is in 8 days. Anyone else experience this ?

Day 12 of preop liquid diet
Jaime_Boston replied to AJ-NC's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I found the longer I was on preop liquids, this was the case for me. My hunger became less and less. -
I'm 5 days post op and staples come out on April 1. How are the internal ones removed? I can't imagine another incision??

Thanks for the info. He may have explained this but it was a lot of info at once. :-) -
anyone with a march date?

My surgeon considers yogurts and puddings on his "liquids" list. -

1 sugar free dark Choc pudding got everything moving for me. -

I got my surgery done last Wednesday

In all honestly, 1 sugar free dark Choc pudding helped move everything right along on day 2. -
Hey! I'm also 5 days post op and also having that slight confusion. Is my stomach just getting used to liquids again or is the weird pressure the "full" feeling. Glad I'm not alone. Sometimes when even swallowing the pain med it's like a sharp feeling to swallow.
-
Also 5 days out and yes, super gurgly! Glad I'm not alone!!
-
The first 48 hours suck! I'm day 5 post op and I feel really good. Keep pressing forward :-)

I was this past Tuesday. The gas has settled in my left shoulder which is now more painful than my incisions. I find walking more tends to help and it's not as bad. My surgeon really just said TIME will heal the gases issue. -

CrazeyJaney - since we are same day sleevers I have a few questions. Are you getting any gurgling noises / feelings that continue on for a few min at a time? What is that???? -

So they are permanently there?? -
Freshly sleeves 5 days ago and I've lost 10 since hospital. I'm in! Starting weight 318 I'd like to see anywhere in 200's for Easter. Let's say 290.

How is that? Are they dissolvable? -
Yep my gas pain in shoulder /neck hurts more than stomach. Weird!

Hey girl, yes we've made it! I also came home yesterday. Car ride wasn't fun either. With every pot hole came a yelp but I held a pillow over my stomach the whole ride which did help. I agree, the pulling feeling when walking is no joke but I actually have been taking 1/2 doses of the liquid pain relief. This helps the pain to not be present but for me to still be awake and coherent. I tried a Popsicle last night and that didn't feel good at all. It felt stuck. Every liquid i swallow feels bubbly and like it could come back up. Friday is a new day though. Hang in there! Also, the gas has settled in my left shoulder making a sharp pain with any cough, nose blow, or swallowing. Dr. Says that will take time to release. Ugh.
