  4. :whoo:Everything went "perfect" according to the doctor. I am sore and swollen - weird that my shorts are tighter leaving the hospital, but I guess that I'm just swollen. The incisions we much larger than I expected (about 3 inches for one incision). The area where the port goes is sensitive and I feel a little sharp pain every now an then especially when I move around. I wasn't supposed to drink anything for 24 hours after the surgery, not even ice chips; however, I was able to sneak a little Water in the bathroom. It's not recommended to drink anything in case you don't hold it down, it can be detrimental to the placement of the band. My surgery lasted 1 hour start to finish. I was in the recovery area for 6 hours because the hospital was short on beds for overnight patients. In the morning, the doctor had radiology take more ex-rays, then I had a liquid Breakfast, and bye bye hospital. So GLAD TO BE HOME. I am definitely happy that I finally had this surgery done - I've been considering it for 3 years. Good luck fellow lap banders! Mary
  5. Dear fellow lapbanders, Well, I am doing it - getting banded tomorrow. I did not do well on the liquid diet, I did still to the caloric limit and very low fat, but I had to eat some solid food like an omlette with egg beaters and fat free cheese. I will post my progress in a few days. Cheers! Mary:scared:
