    Wii Fit

I just picked up my Wii Fit and am anxiously waiting on my husband to move our daughters Wii game into the living room and install it so the entire family can begin using it. In my research I read some where that they recommended not wearing shoes or socks when on the board because it is slippery? Can any of you tell me what your experience is?
  2. Oh, my gosh... the C-Section was WAY WORSE! I've also had two, but they were 12 and 16 years ago. I'm telling you the lap band is a breeze compared to child birth!!! No worries...
  3. Ok, I must confess.... I had surgery on 11/12 and have been following my doctors orders pretty well (until now). My post op diet was supposed to be clear liquids the day of surgery, then the next day move straight to full liquids and pureed foods--for THREE weeks! Well, I have been doing that (mostly) but for the past couple of days was really tired of all the soupy stuff so I guess I've sort of moved on to the more mushy stage (I even ate an entire lemon earlier today). I know my doctor would not agree to this and I'm not sure if it would be for a fear of slippage or healing or what. I guess I need to hear from you experienced folks, do you think I've messed anything up? I find myself "testing" the band to see exactly what I can tolerate. I'm not craving like cheeseburgers or anything but can't wait for the day that I can have chicken salad with a couple of wheat crackers or a garden salad, or even a scrambled egg with a whole wheat slice of toast. Is this bad? Have I lost the momentum? I think I"m loosing my mind. Please give me your input! :faint:
  4. Thanks guys for ALL of your input! I am going to do my best to follow the plan as prescribed. I really didn't go through all this to mess it up. I guess I'm just afraid I've already made it slip since I'm not feeling as much restriction this week as I did the first week. I keep telling myself that the logical reason is the swelling has gone down but I'm still worried and I guess I will be until I get the first fill under x=ray and can see for myself and hear the doctor say that it is in place. My first fill won't be until 6 weeks out. I'm afraid that will put it right near Christmas and my doctor may post pone it until January if his office is closed. Oh well, I'll just have to endure. Again, thanks for all your input! I love being able to come here and get help from all of you that have gone through or are going through the same things!

AP Lap Band available in Georgia

Dr. J. Ryland Scott at the Harbin Clinic in Rome Ga. now uses only the AP band. He does all his surgeries at Floyd Medical Center. I was just banded on Monday, 11/12.
  6. My banding date is scheduled for November 12th (if all goes well with insurance approval). My surgeon doesn't use the new AP band "exclusively" and wouldn't have offered it to me (I don't think) if I hadn't requested it. I plan to talk more about it to him at my appointment just before surgery but was hoping some of you that have it can give me any pros and/or cons of getting this specific band. From what I've read about it (which is not a lot) it seems to be the best option on the market. I'm just wondering why everyone wouldn't ask for it or want it? I know some of you got banded with it earlier in the year and I would LOVE to hear from you!

Results with the new AP band?

faithmd.... WOW! Thanks for the pictures and all the great information! You have lost a lot of weight in a short time! Way to go!! Did I read somewhere on this board that you've lost this weight without having a fill? Do you feel restriction? Do you exercise a lot?

Results with the new AP band?

Thanks for the info Chris61. I hope I will have great results with the AP band. I had decided to hold out for surgery IF my doctor didin't use it. So at my appointment I found out that he does use it but I had to ask for it specifically (not sure why). I will get more details from him at my pre-surgery appointment and make sure that he doesn't forget what I want. I think I will ask him to see the box before surgery. I've read some others have done that to make sure as to what they were getting! You've had GREAT results so far! Please keep me posted on how you and your wife are doing. Good luck on your fills.:clap2:
  9. Hi! I've been lurking here for a couple of months now, learning everything I can about the lap band. I saw the surgeon today and got my date, November 12th. Am I happy?... YES; Am I sad?.... YES; Am I nervous?....YES; Is this the right decision for me?....I thought so, but now why would I feel this way? I'm happy because I realize that I need help. I'm sad because I can't believe it has come to this. I'm nervous because it is surgery. A month ago I was 100% on board for surgery and knew that is was MY ANSWER! Why now do I doubt myself? Nothing has changed that suddenly lets me lose weight and keep it off, I still feel tired and sluggish, I still feel that life is passing me by, so why for one minute would I think "Maybe this is too drastic"? When the doctor asked me to tell him why I needed WLS I got sort of emotional. It wasn't like I didn't know all the reasons (to feel better, look better, do more things with my kids outdoors, play tennis and wear the little tennis skirt). I mean I wasn't surprised and I had written all these things down in my general information sheet that they require early on in the process. I think maybe it was because I actually had to say them out loud, to somebody else. Gosh, I don't know. Please someone tell me this is the normal process. I did pass my psychological test and I've never had any issues. I hope these feelings of doom and gloom will quickly pass so I can get back to thinking my life will have a second chance starting in November. Sorry for the long post.
  10. I just wanted to thank all of you for your kind words. I am feeling better about it today (more positive). I was really caught off guard by my emotions because I felt confident that my mind was made up and I would be strong. I now realize that this has to be a part of the entire process. Food has been my best friend for a l o n g time! Now it is time to say good bye! I am ready to change my life!
