    1 Week Stall already!?

You will get over this bump on the road. The stall likes to come when it feels like it but it doesnt stay forever. Trust me I know the frustration gets to you. Just know that this doesnt mean you will not lose again, because you are. Stay focused on the prize and this stall will pass soon. Good Luck on your journey!

    Ready....Set......GO!

Stick to the preop diet and you will lose a significant amount of weight. Shrinking your liver makes it easier for the Dr to move around in there. Good Luck on your journey!

April 16th role call - who's with me!

Question to my fellow sleevers. What do you take when your constipated? Stool softener, magnesium citrate, exlax? I have a bottle of stool softener "colace" but I dont know if Im allowed to take it, will have to ask Dr when I see him this week. I have another concern, one of my incision seems to be infected (the one in the middle just below my chest), puss and blood came out today and also 2 days ago. It is really red and it hurts to the touch. I called my Dr tonite but instead another Dr called me and he knows nothing of me and was quite blah with me on the phone, he told me to go to emergency room as he cant treat me over the phone and I may need antibiotics etc etc. Anywho I decided Im going to just call my Dr's office in the morning and ask them what I should do. Its not that bad to where I think I need to go to the ER. Seriously? All my other incisions have healed quite nice. Im concerned but dont think ER is necessary, I know Im not a Dr but I guess waiting til tomorrow to speak to my direct Dr will be better. What do you guys think? What would you have done?

    1 Week Stall already!?

Thank you Vonyek! I hope your stall is over, if not just keep in mind you lost 30lbs in 2 weeks and that is awesome! Your body is in shock mode right now and trying to hold onto all the fat cells. Best wishes on getting over this hump and get on with your new healthy lifestyle!
  8. Congrats on becoming an official sleever!!! I know your having issues with liquid intake and protein, we all went thru it. Dont worry with time you will be able to reach your daily goals. Dont gulp down anything, sip slowly cause the pain isnt worth it. You will get your hunger back eventually but nowhere near how it was before. As far as your protein just sip it thru out the day, you dont have to drink it in one sitting. Trust me protein always felt heavy on my tummy and most everyone had issues with it at first. Wishing you a speedy recovery!

    Post Op Fever Anyone?

I had fever temp of 101 at 1 week postop. I called my Dr immediately and he told me to take liquid tylenol and if that didnt help then to go in to see him. The next morning I woke up fine and no more fever.

Your Nut is a complete Nut! Seriously, you lost 55lbs in 3 months, what a great accomplishment! I hope and wish I can lose 50lbs on my 3 month mark. But yea I agree you should call her out on it. She was a moron for making that comment. Dont let her words discourage you because your doing great!

    Back to work?

I went back to work after 3 weeks of surgery, but I have a desk job. Everyone is different but Im thinking you should wait at least another week since your job is being on your feet all day. Or you can try going back part time and see how it goes. Good Luck!

    so tired and weak

It will get better. My first 10 days was a challenge, no energy, barely could sip water or even look at protein shakes. I am now almost 4 weeks postop and feeling great now. Everyone is different, but just know that there is a light at the end of the tunnel. You will recover fully and start to feel normal again soon. Best wishes on your journey.

    Boredom Eaters, meet here!

This is a funny subject, but sadly a fact. I honestly dont know why we eat cause we're bored. Its something that never crossed my mind. But if I had to guess, maybe our minds and/or tummy just merely wants to be occupied with some fuel/food. Its just a bad habit we have, especially if your home and have nothing to do you just walk yourself to the kitchen and find something to do by eating. Thats why its important to keep yourself busy and active, especially now more than ever. We are sleevers now and we made a major decision in going thru surgery to have a better, healthy, long life. This surgery is only a tool to guide you in accomplishing your goal. The sleeve is just half the job, we have to do the other half by watching our food intake and exercise regularly. Its not a diet we will be on for the rest of our lives, its just a lifestyle change.

    So mad at myself

Your human. We make have cravings. Now it is up to you to correct it and move forward. Stay focused on the prize. There is a light at the end of the tunnel. Remember we have a lifetime to be able to enjoy those foods we love but its all about portion portion portion. Wish you the best of luck on your journey!

3 weeks post op and Stressed

I know exactly how you feel! I am 3 1/2 weeks postop and I just came off a 12 day stall of not losing weight and in fact I gained a pound during that stall. The Dr and Nut had warned me this would happen. Keep in mind that your body is in shock mode right now with all the weight you lost in a short period of time. You have lost 20lbs in less than a month, thats an awesome accomplishment! You will come off your stall as I did this past Monday, since then I lost 3lbs this week. We all go thru the stressful stall. As long as you eat right, you have nothing to worry about. As far as the Water goes, it will take time to reach your daily intake dont stress about it. My first week I bareful got 16oz of water daily. So dont worry you will get there. There is a light at the end of the tunnel. Focus, Relax, Smile and keep your eye on the prize. Good Luck on your journey!

    Ready....Set......GO!

Stay focused, this is a good practice for how you will be eating for a month once your postop. Dont cheat, or at least try not to! drinks lots of Water to help you with food cravings and helps keeping you full. Best of luck on your wls journey!

    sleeved with a baby?

Keep in mind that you can not lift/carry more than 5lbs at first and then 10lbs for a month. That will be very hard on you so I hope you have someone helping you the first month. If you carry something over the maximum will cause major issues so be careful. Good Luck with your wls journey!
  24. Yes, I am 3 1/2 weeks postop and I am able to gulp water as of a week ago.

April 16th role call - who's with me!

Hi Amy, welcome to our group! Of course u are welcome fellow sleever! Congrats on becoming a sleever. Hope your feeling well. It will take time to get use to the Protein. Trust me we all have/had issues with protein intake. As for me the first 2 weeks I didnt want to see another Protein shake anymore, it made me feel so full with just 2 sips and I couldnt stand how it made my tummy so uncomfortable. But luckily now it has gotton better because I get to blend in some fruits and I make it a fruit/protein smoothie and it tastes awesome! Make sure you drink your Water to what you can tolerate, we all have issues reaching our goals with water as well...its normal. Each day gets easier and when you see those pounds drop you will see how you made the best decision for yourself to have a healthy life and a new YOU. We are always here if you just wanna vent, talk, questions, etc. Best wishes and wishing you a speedy recovery.
