April 16th role call - who's with me!

Sorry for being late on my 11 week check-in, I was in Baltimore for the holiday weekend. 1) Height / weight starting our wls programs: 5'4" 289lbs 2) Weight day of surgery: 281 3) 11 week post op weight pounds lost/gained: 249, lost 5lbs! 40lbs total 4) Goal weight: 140 5) Your biggest success this week: I flew in the plane and for the first time the seatbelt fit comfortably and I was able to pull the strap a good 6" to tighten it. My hips didnt overlap to other seats and I was very comfy sitting in the middle seat as well! I wanted to cry cause that was such a major accomplishment to me cause I travel alot and it felt so good fitting in that seat finally! I am also another size smaller for my tops, Im a 1X now...I was a 3X before surgery. I have accomplished so much these past couple weeks, Im up to 2 miles of walking! 6) Your biggest struggle this week: I cant really think of one, everything has been going well for me this week.

Butterflypinup, I cant even lie I read your post yesterday and I started to reply but I couldnt figure out what to say to you. I feel for you, we all went thru our own obstacles with this surgery but I have to be honest with you...how is it possible that you vomit everyday? Have you told your Dr, cause this cant be normal. Its been almost 2 months since surgery and nausea and vomit shouldnt even be in the picture anymore. I have you in my prayers and I hope you start to feel better and be able to eat more solids. I hope you are seeing your Dr soon for another follow up. Please keep us posted. I know its hard to see it now but there is a light at the end of the tunnel for you.

Today I ate curry chicken for the first time and I DID NOT handle the spiceyness quite well. Hubby loves to cook spicy food and since Ive never had a problem with the way he cooks I thought I could handle it. Boy was I wrong, good thing I stopped after 2nd bite otherwise I think I wouldve been kissing the toilet. Have you guya tried spicy foods as yet?

Mysleeve I dont think you should feel obligated to tell the girl the truth about your surgery. Of course its your choice but at the same time dont feel guilty for not telling her, you have a right to your privacy. Ive been working for the past 3 weeks and alot of people have asked me the same questions, except no one has asked me if I have had surgery. I tell them all the same, high protein diet, no junk food and lots of water lol

April 16th role call - who's with me!

Ok so Saturday's dinner with hubby and friends was awesome! I ordered a burger and only ate 1/4 of it and half a cheesestick! It was so yummy and I didnt gain an ounce from it. So as u can see it is true we will be able to eat those favorite foods every once in a while. Its just all about portion control. We were there for 3 hours so I was able to munch on like 3 fries as well and thats it. My drink was a tall ice cold glass of water! LOL I told my 2 besties to take a drink for me. Anyone had a nice going out to eat treat lately, if so what did you eat?

April 16th role call - who's with me!

So, today hubby and I are getting together with our close friends and going out to dinner. They all know about my surgery and very supportive. Im looking forward to actually dressing up nice for the first time in a long time. Im also contemplating if I should even order my own dish, given that I will only eat a few bites anyway lol Yesterday I tried steak for the first time it was yummy and I got full with just 3 bites.

Anyone have problems with Tuna the first time they tried it and then tried it again a few weeks later? How was it the 2nd time? Ive been thinking about trying again but after feeling so bloated and nauseas the 1st time Im just afraid to try it again.

April 16th role call - who's with me!

Happy Six Week Sleeviversary everyone! Its check in time! 1) height / weight starting our wls programs, 5'4 289lbs 2) weight day of surgery, 281 3) weight six week post op / pounds lost/gained, 259lbs lost 5lbs this week thats 30lbs total!!! What an awesome feeling. 4) goal weight-140 5) your biggest success this week, exercising for an hour every day and pushing myself each day increasing my numbers in weight lifting and crunches, I could barely do one 11 days ago and now Im up to 90! What an accomplishment. I feel so much healthier and more fit than ever. Also stopped using the walker at home since Sunday, Ive been using it for overva year cause of the back/leg injury I got from car accident...losing this weight has given my back/leg some relief. 6) your biggest struggle this week, constipation continues to be an issue but I do go every 2 days so thats an improvement from going once a week. 7) What is your goal for next week, to continue losing rapidly, continue increasing my exercise regimen to get strong enough to go to the gym by next month and to start having regular BM's without taking dulcolax or any laxative.

April 16th role call - who's with me!

So tomorrow is our weekly checkin, Im feeling enthusiastic about it because I know I have lost a nice amount this week after I got on the scale on Saturday. So how has everyone been? Everyone should be on the solids food stage. How is that working for you? As for me Ive been handling solids quite well. I havent tried alot of types but a good variety. Im little nervous to try eggs. I dont know cause its so dry I guess. I remember having a bad take on tuna which I still havent had a go at it since trying it a few weeks ago. Well Im off to sleep. Nite fellow sleevers!
  19. The 12 day stall I had a few weeks ago can kiss my butt goodbye! I slowly got off the stall finally with losing 1lb then 2lbs the following week and now this week I have lost 6lbs! Im Rockin it! Feels so good to exercise and see that it helps alot with the losing process. I do yoga and weight training 7 days a week. Im so PROUD of myself! Especially when I was depending on a walker for over a year cause of a car accident that injured my back and leg and now with losing these 29lbs in the past 6 weeks has really helped take pressure of my back and Im not depending on the walker much anymore. So you see there is a light at the end of the tunnel fellow sleevers. Whether your having a hard time with your liquids, solids, working out etc Remember this is a lifestyle change and we need to use this tool to the max to succeed in the end and be able to see the light at the end of the tunnel. I am 6 weeks postop, eating solids in small portions of course cause my little sleeve gets full fast as expected. Im working out, something I couldnt do before surgery cause of back/leg injury. I am slowly seeing my light. Im 31 yrs old, 5'4... Start Weight 289 Day of Surgery 281 Current weight 260 Stay Focused, Determined, Dont give up and remember it will get better!

    Having Second Thoughts

Yes it will be tough the first couple of weeks but each day gets easier. I am 5 weeks postop and I am eating normal foods now, small portions of course and I get full with small amounts. I dont feel like Im starving and I dont regret the surgery not one bit. The best advice I can give you after you do the surgery is 3 main things, Water, Protein and walk walk walk. You will have alot of gas and walking helps alot. Good Luck!

April 16th role call - who's with me!

I agree 100% it is a mind game. I can literally skip dinner and be fine but I dont cause I need to have the rest of my daily protein intake. I seem to have more of a head hunger when Im at work. I use go be a big snacker while working. Now I just drink water all day at work. Alot of my coworkers have noticed how little I eat and when they ask I just tell them Im on a high protein diet. Am I lying? lol

April 16th role call - who's with me!

I am so proud of myself, for this entire week everyday I have worked out for 45-60 mins. Granted I am limited with being able to do cardio cause of back injury and neuropathy om my right leg bit Im pushing myself by doing yoga, crunches and weight lifting. I feel so focused and determined and its an awesome feeling! I am finally losing more consistantly and Im handling all the solid foods Ive been eating really well. Wishing everyone a nice holiday tomorrow. Good night folks!
