My surgery was sept 11 and so far i am down 47 pounds. Seems so dang slow to me that I tend to get fustrated. I started at a size 20, now wearing a 16. A 16 in misses not a 16w. I was wearing a 2x top and now i can do an xl in misses and some larges depends how they are cut. I actually have a shape to my body now and it looks nice and curvy, lol. I have less than 8 pounds to go to be under 200 and that makes me jump for joy. Less than 18 pounds and i will be overweight and not obese. Thank God!

Dr watkins where do you practice? I don't feel like my surgeon istens to me I have 3 cc in a 4cc band was banded 9/11 I have a hard time eating anything. Nothing goes down without pain I hurt all the time. I take in less than 600 calories a day, drink protien shakes and exercise like mad and yet I don't loose and no one can tell me why. Any suggestions?

I am just now able to wear a 14/16 so anything you could and would send my way I would love it! Not alot if money ion the budget for new clothes. Just let me know how to get you my address. Christine

interesting facts about me 1. i go to the y at 5am every morning 2. I have a masters in engineering (shhh don't tell anyone) 3. I am married 13 years to someone I don't nor have I ever loved 4. I am totally and completely in love with my nine year old daughter who is perfect in everyway 5. I am a grandama, twice 6 I am building a new home 7. I have traveled the globe ministering the gospel 8. I have never seen myself as fat even though the scale says i am 9, i was banded 9/11 10. I want the courage to get a divorce

i was banded 9/11 had my first fill on 10/12 will have my second fill 10/24 i ate and drank as normal before, during and after my fill with no problems and i am a big coffee drinker

I actually thought it was Thursday. I can't believe i missed it, it is a requirement of my insurance company. Oh well, there is always next month. I have been going to the Y at 5 am in the morning and getting the exercise out of the way. Seems to be working for me. Take care Christine

If it were me, I would do it. It is a tool to help you maintain a healthy lifestyle for the rest of your life. I too started on a diet as soon as I say the surgeon and it is going well for me. I am banded but do not have any restriction but I loose about 2 to 3 pounds a week. I want to know when I get it off that it stays off!! Goodluck with your decision

Way to go! I am at 26.8 lost and don't feel a bit different. I am waiting to feel the weight loss.

How much have you lost since surgery? If thats to personal you don't need to tell me. I am just anxious to get to where I feel like the band is helping me. Right now, it is like I don't even have one. Christine

Well, I had my followup with Maria and Dr Kerlakian today. Not much to report, all is good and I can start bike riding again. I have my first fill Oct 12, 2007. Did you feel any restriction with the first fill? I need one baddddd. I am hungry all the time. Did you decide if you will be going to the support group or not? I never caught your name, mine is Christine.

I have not been, this will be my first. I do realize that I need to go. There is so much I still don't understand about this band. Eveyday is a learning process. Do you feel any restriction with your first fill? I literally could eat anything I wanted to with no problem. I don't but the temptation is surely there. Christine

I will be going to the support group. Hope to see you there. I only have one child left at home and she will be none next Monday. I have to older children, who have children of there own!! Yes, We also belong to the ME lyons. We really should work out a time in the evening for us to work out at least 3 or 4 times a week. We can keep each other accountable. That's really awesome. I work 7 to 4:15 everyday and we go to church on Wed and Sun everyweek. Can you work with my schedule? Christine

I walk but thats about it right now. Waiting for the ok to do more. Do you happen to have a y membership? I do and I assume we are somewhat close to each other. We could exercise together and keep each other motivated. Let me know what you think

I do believe I am getting enough protein. I drink the isopure drinks because the taste like koolaid to me. I use unflavored unjury in water and I drink womans whey for breakfast. I just feel so discouraged. I weigh every sunday and this week i lost nothing, I don't eat but I lost nothing. So very discouraging. I honestly feel like I will stay fat for the rest of my life.

I actually feel like crap. Very tired and hungry all the time. Can you tell me how they do the fills? That part has made me extremely nervous. I have a post op follow up next wed.

I went for the sleep study on my own before I tried to get approved for the lapband surgery becuase I am a low bmi-er also. I got diagnosed with apnea and ran smiling all the way to the surgeons office. My insurance approved me because of the comorbidity and i am 9 days post-op. I know exactly how you feel. Christine

Someone please tell me how to get all the terrible sticky redisue left from the tape off my stomach. I can't seem to get it to go away no matter what I try.

i was given liquid oxcycontin, You are not supposed to swallow anything larger than a small shirt button. Seems vicodin would be way to large.

I have 5 incisions and one is right under my bra line right between the boobs. Pretty weird if you ask me. I feel like crap, back hurts all the time. I can not take my pain meds because oxycontin is way to strong for me. I am supposed to go back to work Monday and I feel like I want to sleep all the time. I have zero appetite. Blahhhhh is how I feel.

The only thing the pain meds do is knock me out. When i wake up I have te same pain. I can get about 2 hours of sleep with the meds. I am going to call him tomorrow if I am not feeling better. Husband thinks I am being a big baby. Im not sure i told you I was outpatient, I never stayed in the hospital. going on 3 solid days with no food, just Water and skim milk.
