Hi Ya'll, Just had my 1st setback. :cry I have been trying to have my LapBand done at River Oaks Hospital but found out they have not been aproved "YET" by Medicare for Medicare to pay for it. I can't afford it if that is not done . It should be approved but no telling when. I went to a semanar at CMMC 3-4 months ago and they were in the process to be approved by Medicare for Medicare to pay for it. I'm going to check with them soon to see how it's going there. Other than that, "I'm ready". Glad to see another person here on the MS thread. Don -

Hi Y'll, I have all my pre-op requirements done, just waiting for the Ins. Co's Blessing. My wife Nina (yayaflowerlady) seems to be more interested in having the Banding done also. She's (just like all the rest of us) worried about complications, not working etc. As soon as we see my Dr. again we will talk to him in detail about Her health problems, her relatives that dyed early, etc., etc., that should convince him. If we could be banded not too far apart in time, that might work out good. Until next time, Don -

Hi, After I came home the Doc gave me an large envelope with more papers to fill out that I have not looked at yet. It was about 10-12 more page to fill out and mail back to him. It took me another 2 Hrs. to fill out those papers. This batch went into great detial on my passed eating habits, Family, on & on & on. Glad to have that over with. :faint: Going to my Family Doc Monday (10-08-07) to update my Annual checkup so He can send a letter to Dr. Carrell saying that I'm healthy enough for the surgery. Still waiting for the Ins. Co. to "OK" everything. Don -

I should add that my Doc wants me to go on a clear liquid diet, not to lose weight, but to lose fat around the liver. That will happen one week before the surgry. -

Hi Y'll, My Doc has submitted the papers to my Ins. Co. & Medicare, just waiting for thier reply. I seen the shrink yesterday (10-03-07) as part of my Pre-op. I was there 4 hrs and had to answer over "700" Yes or No questions :faint:on paper plus a few orel questions from the Doc. Then........ went to Sam's and did a little shopping, this is the way I spent my 43rd. wedding Anaversary. BUT......... When I arrive home, I rang the door bell and when my wife answered the door I had "two doz rosses" in my hand. Made Her day. :biggrin1: That's the latest update from this arena; just playing the old waiting game. Don

Hi Betty Lou, You said your Dr. is Dr. Carrel, do you mean Dr. Carroll at River Oaks Hospital? I'm having my 1st. Dr. Appt. with him on Sept 24th. to start the process. If so you are the 2nd. person I have heard about at that Hospital. No, maybe 3 people. I live in Puckett about 40 minutes away. See my posting in the other MS. link under skinnydippn42. Nice to hear from someone close. Don

Hi again, Glad to hear from someone that just had it done & someone that had it done a short time ago. It's a general idea what to exspect in the future. As I mentioned yesterday, my 1st. Dr. appt. is Sept. 24th. Very excited to get the process started. Interesting about your Hubby gaining while you lose. Keep an eye on him, don't let him gain too much. :heh: Keep on posting your progress & I will also to see how each of us are doing and incourage each other. Good luck, Don
