    Any October Bandsters!??!?!

Hi Folks, Well last Thursday (03-12-09) They added one more CC of fill. I'm hoping it's NOT too tight now. I'm not eating or Drinking enough per day now and almost every bite hurts when I swallow. I'm lucky to drink 3-4 glasses of liquid per day and not much more than one to two cups of food. Today I did manage to eat 2 eggs with a little bit of cheese on it. Now I'm going to try to drink my V-8 Fusion drink with my powered Vit/Min's added. If it does not stop hurting by Monday or at least hurt a LOT least I'll call up and talk to the nurse again. WOW, what the last couple of days this has been. The plus side, I know it's too fast, but I have lost 6 lbs the last two days. Does all this sound normal to you?? I talk to the nurse Friday and she sounded like I was doing ok, just take it slow and easy for awhile. I'm just hanging there, doing my best. Don PS: I hope everyone else is doing just find.

  4. I have not lost anything for about 3 weeks now. I have increased my treadmill time over 2 mph for 30 + minutes to every day & go Bowling mosts Fridays. I "think" I'm losing inches but no weight. I see my Doc on March 12th., maybe I need another FILL, not sure yet. They say this banding weight loose is slow but this seems to be TOO slow. Very few people know I have been banded, but the people that do know are very supportive. Only one person have said, Why can't you just diet, use this diet or or that diet, etc., but when I told my "story", the one we all have, she understude. Hope to see the scales going down again soon. Don

Hi Ya'll, I have not been on for awhile. Still hanging in there around 238 lbs. (30 lbs down) I don't know if I need anouther fill or I'm eating the wrong/too much food. I don't see the Doc for another month. Our monthly support group has started a weight lose challenge for the next 2 months with money prizes. It has me thinking a little closer as to what I'm doing. Maybe this will help. But I'm not giving up. Just getting started and a long way to go to a new me. Even 30 lbs down I'm looking better and already can get in some of my smaller clothes. Don PS: I starting Bowling the last couple weeks on Friday with a seniors group. Bowling is a lot more excersize than I remembered. Nice to meet other people and get in a little different type of excersize. Highes game so far is 153.

Everyone is different in the way they lose. It's so strange. Before my 1st fill I only lost 3 lbs; than I lost 6 lbs the following month. A week after that I did not lose anything, than all of a sudden I lost 3 lbs in 3 days. I'm eating 1/3 to 1/2 of what I used to eat and staying full most of the time. I, so far can eat just about anything, healthy food that is, just a lot less of it; and it takes me at least 30 + minutes to do it. Just learn to lesson to what the band is telling you and you will do just fine. Don

Looks like everyone is doing very good. Keep on being "lossers", that's a good word in our case. My last Post-op Doc's appt. the Doc said I lost 6 lbs and that is good for one month, so I did not need another fill. Just these past 3 days I lost 3 lbs.; it realy suprized me. I'm feel really good about that. Don :tt2:

Well, I'm starting to get the hang of it; that is, how much to eat, when to eat and what to eat. It's amazing how much changing your live style it take. No matter how much you are told, you have to expereince it yourself to have it sink in. One more pound down. Don

******************************************** Yes, the little bit I know about it right now some people can't eat soft bread.:tongue2: but you can eat well toasted bread. I have tried toasted bread with my spiesual homemade tuna mix and have not had any trouble. Some time in the future I'm going to try a normal sandwich of some type or another. We always use 100% whole wheat bread. I have already been eating some very good whole wheat creakers I found in Krogers in the Health food section I really like and can handle. Don

It's been about two months sense I was banded and I can eat just about anything. Beans & rice is one of my faverites as long as there is some type of meat in it. My daughter made some home made beans & rice last week and a couple weeks ago I baught some store baught Beans & Rice. Have not had any problems so far. Hang it there, things can only get better. :tongue_smilie: Don

Samething happened to me. When I started excersing again, one of them was bending over. I was doing this now & than and after about a week it really started to hurt in the port area. My Doc said that it might not have been completely healed up yet. Even now when I lean on something in that area, I have to be careful. I can feel the port when I touch that area. The nurse said I could feel it that easy because I did not have as much fat in that area. So, seems like that's something else we have to get used to. Don

Yes, I had a choice. My doc said that his patients are doing better with the Realize Band. People over 65 yrs. old are doing better/ with less complications. So I'm sure it's the same with people under 65.

Howdy Ya'll, I just had my 1st. fill on 12-18-08. After a couple of days I could realy tell that it's helping. Now I'm learning even more how to work "with" the band. My portians of food are getting smaller all the time. Even my plates are getting smaller. Sure is strange how little I'm eating now. Down two more pounds. That made me feel good. Good luck to every one in "2009". Don
