    April 2024 Surgery Buddies

How are all my April buddies doing so far? I’ve lost about 20lbs so far.

Day 5 of pre-op diet and...

My skin broke out right after my surgery! Omg. I am on week six postop and it is cleared up, but wow, it did not like the change.
  3. Welp! I’m 4 days post op. I had a revision from lapband to RNY and it was much more than anticipated! My surgeon told me I needed to have my gallbladder out at the same time (I had gallstones) so I was prepared for that but once he got in there he found A LOT of scar tissue from the lapband (mind you, it’s been 20yrs since I got it) and then a hernia!!!! So I was in surgery for 4 hours! I feel as good as expected I guess but wanted to give everyone a heads up… just be prepared for the unexpected! ❤️
  4. Hi! I am 51 and having a revision from lap band to RNY on April 3. I’d like to hear from someone my age or older… how did your surgery go? Do you think age makes a difference?
  5. Hello! I was just approved for revision surgery / Lapband to RNY / and am waiting on a surgery date. Just wondering how much time some of you took off work?

    Possible slip? Need your input!

Hi Suebaby, Thanks for your reply. I went to the Dr. and it was a slight slip. He did an unfill and I go back in 2 weeks...I'm on liquids and mushies. He said we may be able to do a fill after that. We'll see. How have you been doing since the slip? ~Pamela.
  9. Hello All, It's been a LONG time since I have been on this site, due to work, etc! Now, I have a BIG question. I think my band may have slipped and I want to get your input. I don't want to run to the Dr. if there is actually nothing wrong. About 4 days ago I experienced severe acid reflux 2-3 days in a row (and i'm on protonix already) - to the point that my boyfriend could HEAR it! And now my stomach feels- odd. It's kind of sore, and rubmles around. Something just does not feel right. I have had a standing appt. for a fill next week, but don't want to panic...What do you guys think? Has anyone experienced this? Thanks for your input, ~Pamela:confused:
  10. I had my 1st experience w/Carbonation last weekend! BIG MISTAKE! My stomach went CRAZY for a long while! It was all rumbles and gurgles...and I had guests over and they could hear it all! LOL! I think I'll stay away from it from now on...it had been 2 months since I had had any at all... ~pamela.

    First Fill? 2.7cc

Hi Heather! My 1st fill on Nov 21st was 2.2cc's... and I hardly have restriction... ~pamela.
  13. pamela

    Ok, starting to freak out...

    maybe I flipped my port?!?!?
  14. I had my 1st fill on the 21st of November. 2.2cc's and no real big restriction... Last Saturday I was at a Christmas party and ate more than I should have- and the wrong things... Now I can feel my port and it is sore. Like dull pain. I'm just so afraid that I have really done something wrong or that my port has moved??? I also slept on my side for a long time, which I uusally don't do. I don't want to call the Dr. and freak out for nothing. Anyone else ever experience this? I'm just so worried... ~pamela.

    First fill, no difference

I had my first fill on 11/21 and feel no restriction either...I'm so disappointed. I'm trying to wait until after the 1st of the year to go for my second...but I'd sure like to be able to feel it NOW... I mean, geez, he put 2.2cc's in! ~Pamela.
