    Post-Op January 2014 Losers Club!

So I was told by my NUT I could start regular diet today wk 7 and I don't know why but I'm nervous! I don't know why to buy! I'm afraid to go back to old habits! Im still in a stall despite adding exercise I'm going to just continue to eat what I am now. It was soft diet but still chicken and turkey burgers and vegetables. I don't know what else to add. Se told me I could have 1/2 of a toasted English muffin but that Is carb. I thought we had to stay away from all carbs. . Hummm I'm confused! Anyone start regular diet? Oh I should mention my problem is I'm a picky eater!

    Protein bars

Thanks for all your advice! I'm not sure of I'm going to try them now or wait to maintenance. But from what I'm reading some so so good and I would be afraid they would be a trigger food for me. I might go buy one or two from all of your recommendations to try them! I'm on regular diet starting today and not sure what to eat! Lol I guess I'm going to continue what I'm doing.

    Protein bars

Thank you for your suggestions!! I will try some of these. They sound yummy! Right now I have a shake in the am and one at night. Maybe I will move my night shake earlier before the gym. I want to try to mix it up between bars and shakes. The shakes are getting old lol! But I will keep having them!

    Post-Op January 2014 Losers Club!

Hi everyone! I had the sleeve 1/10 and want to join this thread. My surgery went well except I had 2 sutures that were pulling very tight so I could hardly move for the first 4 wks. The sutures finally popped and since then I feel much better! I'm 6 wks and 3 days today. I got clearance to go back to the gym so I signed up today and took a class. I hit my first stall the past 2 wks. I keep fluctuating between 2-4 pounds. Very frustrating! I'm excited for this journey and glad I found this app! I can't wait to buy smaller clothes. As if today I'm down 20 pounds. How is everyone doing that had surgery early Jan?

    January 2014 Sleevers Come In!

Frankenbelly1 that is great you get that amount of water down! That is my mission this wk to increase my water intake. The plan my dr gave me to follow is 4 oz protein in the morning with 1 oz of yogurt or fruit. Then the rest of the day is 2 oz protein and 2 oz of vegetable or fruit. Plus 2 protein shakes 6 oz each. By the end of the day it gets hard dr me to finish that last protein shake. I'm afraid of stretching my ouch too! I guess thy will always be a fear for all of us! Good luck at the dr I hope all is well! Thank you for you input!

    January 2014 Sleevers Come In!

Frankenbelly51 thank you! I have experienced constipation and take colace everyday to help with that. I think it is the energy and fatigue that is making this hard. I don't regret having the surgery for a second! I'm just looking forward to that spike of energy! Your right it is probably my bodies way of telling me I'm not getting enough of something. I'm making an appt with my primary dr to have Bloodwork checked. Congratulations your doing great! I haven't experienced the shaky feeling but I hope it goes away for you! Are you able to get down the recommended 64 oz of water a day? Do you feel hungry at times?

I also want to mention i never lost my hunger. It is less than before but I definitely get hungry about every 2-3 hrs. On a better note I'm so happy I did this surgery and look forward to this new lifetime journey.

    January 2014 Sleevers Come In!

Hello January sleever's! I had surgery 1/10/14. Started at 205 and down to 185. I can't help to get disappointed at only losing 20 lbs so far. I keep saying to myself that 20 lbs In 7 wks is great, but can't help hoping t was a little faster. I have had my ups and downs emotionally. I feel very weak and fatigued at times and that makes me depressed. Just this past Thursday I was cleared to do any exercise. So I'm joining a gym on Monday to take classes hoping that will increase the weight loss. I have been the same weight for almost 2 wks! I'm doing everything I should do but I am a picky eater. So I'm eating. A lot of the same things over an over. Anyway I'm wondering how everyone else is doing so far that had the surgery early Jan? How is everyone's energy level? Also I am trying so hard to get 64 ounces of liquid in daily but so far I get between 36-44 including 2 protein shakes a day. Is everyone able to get more water/ fluids down?

    Low energy?

I was the same way when I went back to work. Sad to say weeks 4-5 were bad or me with working and low energy. I would get home around 6 eat dinner and fight to stay awake until bed time. I'm now at wk 7 and it has improved. Definitely exercise and take your vitamins. That helped me! Good luck!

    Not losing weight

I'm 7 wks out and stopped losing at 20 lbs. I'm getting nervous too! I've been the same weight for 2 wks. I just increased my exercise and changed some of the foods I was eating so hopefully that helps. My dr told me I be patient but it is hard lol. I started at 205 and am at 185. So my BMI was on the lower side as well at 38. I'm a picky eater so I'm working in changing my Taste for new foods and vegetables. Good luck!
  15. Wow thanks everyone! I too was a diet Pepsi addict. Haven't had any since 1/2/14. Still think about it all the time and want a sip when I see it. Thanks to reading all these threads I will NOT ever touch it! BUT I will still miss it along with the occasional beer! It is ALL worth it in order to reach my lifetime goal!!!!

    Vitamins

Yes flinstones complete is what my dr told me because others made me feel so sick. It has everything in it that was in the list of nutrients needed. I take 2 a day. But definitely listen to what ever your dr recommends.

    Vitamins

I take 2 chewable flinstones and it doesn't make me nauseous. Some I have tried made feel sick.

    post- op food ideas?

Hi Valerie, I'm 5 wks and 2 days post op. In the hospital I could hardly get down any water. The gave me protein jello and I kept taking small spoonfuls of that. But don't get worried in the hospital if you can't meet the fluid requirements. Once I got home for some reason it was easier. I LIVED on sugar free ice pops (about every hour)! low sodium beef broth( I felt like I was having pot roast) it was do good! Chicken broth, Sf jello and the crystal light to mix it up. I'm still working on getting in enough liquids. I'm on the soft good diet and my liquid intake is still at most 42-48 ounces a day. It is hard but everyday I try to get more. Good luck and one day at a time!!!!

    need a drink

Ok thank you! No wine tonight.
  21. Hello, I'm 5 wks out today and slowly getting energy back. I'm feel tired and drained all the time! My dr said energy should start coming back between wks 4-6. So I'm still waiting and getting rest when I can. I haven't tried to eat much so I don't know about my taste buds yet. I do know I need to add foods I didn't like before so I hope they change. My question is do you feel nauseous everyday? I wake up feeling nauseous every morning and sometimes it comes back during the day and at night. Just wondering I anyone else has this as well?
