My surgeon is really good, understanding and helpful. I had no complications, thank GOD! I woke up from recovery feeling very tired! And hungry. Today, I had my sets of water from 1 oz. graduating to 3. I didn't quite make it to 4. My doc told me I did good and could end here for tonight. I oh home tomorrow morning! I can't wait to be in my own bed! Gotta run , I have to blow on the spirometer and then it's lights out! Thanks for reading!

I'm glad you're doing well! For some reason I'm dying to have some tuna fish, I hope my taste for it doesn't manifest into a puking session in the ladies room! I'm suppose to go back after 4 weeks, but trying to push for 6 weeks.

Congratulations! That's awesome! I'm craving tunafish for some reason. I hope I can start purée food when I go back next week. Keep up the weigh loss! Best!

Thank you! Congrats to you as well ! I wanted ice chips so bad but they refused this request . They said I'll swallow the air. Different surgeons different rules ! Do what works best for you! Congrats again! -

What Was Your Ah-Ha (Or Oh Crap) Moment?
sophiastuffin replied to SoccerMomma73's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I love this question, and the replies! My aha moment is realizing I just couldn't do it on my own! I've tried most diets, and as an act of desperation even supplements that are risky. I couldn't exercise, although I tried countless times! I even did Pilates, and torn a tendon. Later I developed a bone spur on 2 locations on my foot, even had surgery on it twice. The shortness of breaths, has always scared me with series of what ifs? I feared having a heart attack in my 30s. I did not seriously consider wls until seeing commercials for it last summer. Initially it was a fleeting thought, then a what if I did do this? After discussing with my husband I made the appointment. Fast forward 6 months I am a week shy of surgery. I'm nervous, but it's something I've prayed about and feel is a good option for my health, and the well-being of my family. -
I will be having mine on March 3. I got my approval this week!

Hello and welcome! I am new myself. I'm from N.Y.,but I can relate because I too have a 2year old. (Girl) I'm also uncertain if I should tell people. Once at my mother's home a commercial for bariatric surgery came on and I jokingly said this is what I should do! She went on about the risks, and why don't I try watching what I eat. (I've only tried it a million times!) I know she means well...but yeah! I'm also looking into supplements and brands as well, so ill be keeping an eye on this thread. Welcome again! Best!

Can't wait to be reintroduced to the "new me"!
sophiastuffin posted a topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Hello all! I've been reading up on here and decided to join in! I started journey back in July 2013, after numerous failed attempts on my own. I was initially discouraged because my BMI was under 40. Luckily, or rather unlucky I also have hbp. I continued with my 6months required insurance visits with my M.D., psych evaluations, met with the nutritionists, surgeon fast forward to now. I have a surgery date, (March 3) and I am just awaiting insurance approval. My BMI did balloon up to 40. (The holidays tasted so delish my insurance is known for being difficult, as much as I love their benefits. I'm a bit nervous, anxious and growing impatient, lol! How did you all manage? How about alerting employers prior to surgery? How long on average were you able to be off work? Thanks! -
