I am going to have a consultation with a doctor on January 22 about receiving the band. Are there any specific questions I should ask? Most importantly, if I need to know the exact amount of the surgery, is that something I ask the doctor or someone else? Thanks for your advice. :help:

Anyone been financed through Capitol One Health Care? Just wondering. Thanks.

Hi all! I have been thinking about LapBand for the past 4 years and I am so going to go for it! Now that I've decided to do it, what should my next step be? I don't really have a lot of support for my decision...so any advice would be great! Also, I've read several threads about making sure that you get the correct band (i.e., the one approved by the FDA). Can someone remind me what that band is? Thanks so much.

Thank you all so much for your advice. I will be graduating from college in December with my teaching degree. I do not want to wait months for insurance to approve, especially if I can't obtain a job right away. So I think financing is the right thing to do. Thank you so much, I really appreciate you taking the time to respond.

Could anyone give me advice about getting financed for Lap Band? Has anyone gotten financed? Is it hard, are there certain steps I should follow? Any advice would be great. Thanks.

Hi, I'm getting reading to graduate with my teaching degree and I plan to move to North Carolina. I am planning on getting financed for the surgery as soon as I get going. Has anyone been banded in North Carolina? Would you suggest a particular surgeon? Thanks. Savanna

Hi. This website has been so helpful to me in learning more about the LapBand procedure. As soon as my student teaching is over, and I receive a teaching position, I plan to get financed for LapBand. My question to you all is: What was the "last straw" for you? What was the moment that you realized that you were going to fight the hunger battle head on and change your life? I think everyone has atleast one, if not many, of those types of moments, and I am curious to know what did it for you. Thanks.

I will admit that I cried when I found this site and read everyone's stories. My name is Savanna. I will be graduating from college in December and I will be a teacher. I actually start my student teaching tomorrow. I have been researching LapBand for about 3 years, and I have decided that it is the best option for me. The only thing is that my insurance doesn't cover it. I'm fine with that because I have been reading about a lot of financing options that are available. I can't work while I student teach but I plan on starting my journey as soon as I graduate and obtain a job (hopefully in Jan. or Feb.). Has anyone else been financed for the band? What is my first step? I am so excited that I am about to burst even thinking about it. I could use all the advice you have to give!:whoo:

Hi, I'm Savanna. I am 22 years old and will be graduating from college in December as a teacher. I have been considering LapBand for about 3 years now and I have decided it is the best option for me. The only thing is that my insurance doesn't cover it. I am fine with that because I know that there are a lot of financing options available. I can't begin my journey until about January or February when I have a real job (I can't work while I student teach). Has anyone been financed for Lap Band? What should my first step be? Now that it is getting so close, I have no idea where to start! Any advice would be great!

Thank you guys for the advice. I actually am considering grad school, and I may check in to the extra money. I also really like Capitol One, and I am glad to know that it isn't too complicated. Congratulations on being "banded" (I like that term). I hope all goes great, and I am looking forward to joining you in the near future!
