Share your favorite outfit!

Everyone looks great and is so inspiring! Although I think I look good compared to before, I just take awful pictures so I don't have any to post. I just know for me at times I still struggle with wanting to wear baggy or draping tops to "hide" things. Although I still have a belly, there really is no need to wear baggy/draping tops. And it stinks sometimes because that's all there seems to be out there to buy. I was a size 26 before now down 100 lbs to size 18 (340 plus down to 235). Need to get on the bandwagon and eat better and lose the remaining 50 or so. -
I have found some decent clothes at JCPenney for a reasonable price.

Looking for "What I Wish I Knew" Tips and Suggestions!
sue_t replied to Mariah13's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I was sleeved February 3, 2014. My advice is: * to follow the instructions given to you by your surgeon and their team. * take it easy. * Don't try to overdo it. * Listen to your body. For the first couple of weeks there will be good days and days when you feel like crap. Key is to not overdo it. -
I know this is strange..... Do you ever look in the mirror and think that I've lost weight here but not there? I guess I was thinking the weight would come off equally in all places. For example, I can REALLY see a difference in my neck/shoulders/upper arms, but my lower arms are still chunky. I am not complaining. I just think it's interesting and wondered if anyone else thought this.

Feeling discoraged july sleever
sue_t replied to cchapman6's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I know it's hard to not be discouraged. Just continue to eat right and exercise as instructed. Things will get better!! I am almost 7 months out. scale has barely moved in the last two months. But I am going to the gym and exercising. And I can see the differences in my clothes and my body so that's all that matters to me. -
There is nothing easy about any of this. I choose to only tell select people because I didn't want to hear that type of crap from people. It's not EASY having surgery. It's not EASY to learn to eat healthy after not eating healthy all your life. Tell those that you can trust and will be supportive in your journey. You are showing a lot of strength and courage to do this!!

Yay!! Congratulations!!

Do not feel bad about it. It was the best thing I have ever done!! Do this for yourself. Please! Do not feel guilty, ashamed or anything. Be proud that you have the courage and ability to do this for yourself.

4'11 180 lbs... Insurance/self pay combo ?
sue_t replied to auntjanny's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
My insurance did not cover the surgery so I was a self pay. Although it sucked to have to pay for it, I feel like I have a more vested interest in my health because of it. Insurance dud pay for most of the pre-op tests and they paid for the hernia repair. I think I ended I ended up paying about 11,000 out of pocket. -

3 MONTHS POST OP. NOT LOSING WEIGHT
sue_t replied to preciousVSG's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I was sleeved February 3rd of this year. Although I do get on the scale everyday, I try not to ficus on the numbers too much. Yeah, I love seeing the number go down but I try not to get too upset. I am just trying to spend my energy focusing on eating right. I haven't exercised that much so I have been trying to start doing that. -
Great job! Also 3 months out, glad to see we are on about the same path!! Congratulations!!!

Hi. I am almost three months post out. For the most part I can get my fluids in and my Proteins, but I have had hardly no veggies or fruits. There just isn't room in my tiny tummy. But I've very constipated even with taking colace. Nurse told me today to add Metamucil. Any recommendations on how to start adding vegetables into my day? Please no pinto or black Beans (too much gas)! I am tempted to buy a nutri bullet and to make shakes/smoothies and add unflavored Protein to it. Thanks!!

Old habits really do die hard
sue_t replied to sarahgirrl's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I am about 2.5 months post op. My biggest problem is that I sometime eat TOO fast and up throwing everything up. I have gotten very good at throwing up vey discretely. It's very hard to eat right after eating like a pig all my life. ???? -
Really need some support
sue_t replied to loveurself1's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
You are not alone. We are all here for you. I felt alone too because I didn't tell many people. When I finally told my friends, I was so glad I did. The support, even if only from a small handful was all I needed!! I didn't want to tell people because I thought they would think I was a failure or was taking the "easy way" out. But then I realized that I don't care what they think. Now almost three months post op, when I do tell select people I see that look in their eyes. Oh well. I look at it as we had the courage to undergo the surgery. I admit I needed help to lose the weight. Good luck and let me know if there is anything I can do to help you. -
Thanks to everyone for their responses. Went to see surgeon today and he said everything looked fine and that I just over used some muscles!! Thank goodness! Still sore but it comes and goes.

I will be two weeks out tomorrow. Been staying at a friends house since that time. I came home this past Friday to my two dachshunds. I don't know if I picked up something (a bag or a dog) that was too heavy but I've been experiencing some right sided pain from time to time. It feels more like a slight cramp and it only occurs if I bend or sit in a certain position. I read that if you pick up or carry something too heavy you could over use the muscle. I don't have a fever. I am able to get my Protein and liquids. Do ya'll think it is muscle or something worse? Should I call the doctor? Thank you.
