Good Morning! I found BariatricPal while looking around on the Internet. I haven't had any surgery yet and I wanted to hear what people were saying about their surgeries and their trials and tribulations with the surgery. I am anxious about making this life-changing decision and felt that by reading the comments from people who have already had the surgery would help me.
I am considering the surgery because I was diagnosed with Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension last year. This is an incurable disease where the arteries in your lungs constrict and cause your heart to have to pump harder to get blood through the lungs to pick up the needed oxygen. Since I am so overweight, my heart is already having to work harder, and I feel that by having the surgery I could help ease some of the stress on my heart and live longer!
I am hoping that the input I obtain from BariatricPal will help answer some of my questions and ease some of my doubts and concerns.
I am a very outgoing person who loves a crowd and enjoys being with people. I have always enjoyed eating...it's the way I was raised! Every event centered around what was going to be eaten. And, I know that this is going to be a major change for me...but, I also know that I want to live as long as I can, so I can do this if I decide to have the surgery.
