Well, it's been 4 months now since my sleeve. So far absolutely no bad side effects from surgery. I've gotta say I must be one of the lucky few who had absolutely no issues not even gas pains after the surgery. So far I'm down 104lbs, and still going strong. That being said I've had to work my ass off to get there 3-5 days at the gym and 2 of those days are with a personal trainer. I kind of shifted the money I saved in groceries to my training. I've dropped from a 46 inch waist, almost a 48 down to a 40 now and those are getting loose. Shirts have went from 4x to 2x. I haven't had to get to the point of weighing my food or anything I am even able to get most my protein from food and just have a protein shake after my workouts. Really I'm feeling like a million bucks now. I even do some running now, good thinks is I don't feel like I need a bra to do it now either! Lol My skin is shrinking up nicely too. I know not every one has as easy a time as me but I would definitely say this has easily been my best decision ever. For those havering a tough time, good luck with it all, just remember to keep your chin up and keep pushing and follow your diet and you will reach your goal.

Well just went to 1 month check up and down 30lbs from 373 to 343. My blood pressure is way down too and almost normal. Really no complications to report, gotta say I wish I would have decided to do this a long time ago. I do admit I had it relatively easy. I never had any gas pains and no issues eating either. I would have to say my worst part of the surgery was drinking that horrible dye for my swallow test the day after and then getting to the room just in time to throw it all up. Aside from that pain was down to an easily tolerable level in 3 days and off meds for pain in 5 days. By far this is the best decision I have made.

Try and keep your head up, I know it gets frustrating at times but it will all be worth it. I admit I had an easy time with my surgery by all accounts but it gets a little better each day. I pretty much survived off protein shakes and crushed ice for the first week, the ice really helped settle my stomach down so I even put it in my protein shakes too. Be creative with the shakes I used crystal lite mixes in mine to change the flavors up a little too. Vanilla and chocolate and strawberry where driving me batty quick. I use peppermint extract in mine too, that always helps settle my stomach when it's upset. My point of being worth it was my first follow up visit 8 days after when I was 15lbs lighter. I am almost a month out now and no more pain and my diet is back to normal with the exception of I eat way less now. Not sure on my weight as of yet but should be close to 30lbs less. Good luck with every thing. -
I didn't have the gas issues fortunately, but everyone says just keep walking. As for the sleep part it gets better every night. My pain meds usually helped me but I woke up every hour probably the first few nights. I had my surgery on Tuesday 2/25 and by that Friday I was off all the pain meds and everything except the reflux meds. It does get better everyday though so it will go by fast, once I got my drain out I slept like a baby then. Just take it slow and stick to your diet and you will be good. My tip would be don't eat close to bedtime. Every time I have, I wake up with really bad reflux in the middle of the night. That's the only time I get reflux though so I just make sure I give my self 2 hours before laying down after I eat. You just have to see how stuff effects you though.

Less than 2 weeks till sleeve!

My doctor doesn't do the pre op diet, he just has me cutting back on stuff, and watching what I eat and working out. He said he thinks that works better so I am not weak during surgery. -
Well I got one more test to do then it's game on 2/25/14. Both excited and a little nervous for it all but can't wait to have it all done and start moving forward.

Thanks for the wishes Tiff and congrats to SandeeD for your surgery too. Hopefully we all have it easy and get to our goal weight in the time we are aiming for. -

Yeah the constant flow of appointments every week on my day off is getting a bit old but it's all worth it. My doctor has been good about trying to get more than one in every week so that's been nice. As for the nerves definitely, but I just keep trying to focus on the results of it all. Honestly I have been struggling more with focusing on my diet since I scheduled the surgery. I keep having this feeling I need to live it up before I can't do it. I had to fast before my blood tests today and after no food for 12 hours my mind was racing with all kinds of bad stuff to eat. Lol ended up eating right but it was a tough decision.
