Tomorrow is the day!! First surgery at 7:30am!! Scared out of my mind. Not for the pain, nausea or journey. Just for the surgery itself and any complications. I have had a hysterectomy and that was fine. Never worried. Not sure why I'm worried so much. I just wish it was over, I'm awake and I start this journey. No Preop diet was needed for me from my doc but decided to start one on Saturday anyways. Lost 5 pounds already!! I know this is the best thing for me but give me a Xanax when I walk through those hospital doors! Wish me luck!!

Federal BCBS paid for my sleeve 100%, minus the copayments for the hospital and my surgon!
littlelaura replied to Ambwee's topic in Insurance & Financing
Got my approval from BCBS today and then got the call to schedule surgery. June 17th also. Getting nervous and always worrying about complications. -
I'm tentative June 9th. Waiting on insurance approval. Completed all my nutrition and psych classes. Have been drinking protein shakes and taking vitamins since February. Doc said I didn't have to do a Preop diet!

I have basic and the difference from ours was the premium and you have to choose your doctors from a select group. Although every doctor I wanted was in that group. So I'm lucking out. -
Benefit of Weight Training (w/PICS!)
littlelaura replied to NewSetOfCurves's topic in Fitness & Exercise
Can I ask what your starting weight and weight loss has been? You look great !! -
Quest bars are the best I've tried. Very high protein and fiber and only 1 gram of sugar. The cookie dough and cookies and cream are the best!!
-
I'm hoping to be sleeved in may also. I finished my nutritional visits and my psych visits and now they have to just send all the paperwork to my surgeon who then has to get the insurance approval. In the three months that I had my nutritional visits I lost 20 pounds which was great. But now I have the mentality that I'm done seeing the nutritionist so at times I do go off and eat whatever I want. I've been feeling guilty and I go back to drinking my protein shakes and watching what I'm eating but I can see that I do need the surgery because I do gorge sometimes on food. If you have your one bad day just remember to get back on track the next day as long as you get back on track. Good luck to everyone I'm sure you all do great.

Insurance paying for protein drinks....
littlelaura replied to leo0704's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I just got my protein drinks along with the scar cream and the vitamins today on my doorstep. My husband and I are going through this together so we each got four cases of Premier protein drinks so we have eight cases altogether. That's a great savings with insurance paying for that. -
