I know every long trip starts with the first step. but move your sights alittle further down the road. I know you have just been through the stress and trauma of surgery Your trying to get by on liquid (and not much of that) . And the payoff for all you have been through is weight loss. You need to see those pounds come off . And after all you have been through ...by gosh they better be flying off ! I know it's wornout banter, but the pounds didn't come on overnite and they aren't going overnite. Try your best to look alittle further down the road. See yourself in a year. Eating solid foods. Knowing what to eat and how much. looking great and feeling even better...it'll happen Kiddo...just settle in and enjoy the ride!

Congrates to the long 100 lb. Lost list. Now thats what i'm talkin 'bout. I remember when i had my surgery , a friend that was banded a year before me said "just wait till your a year post-op....down about 100 lbs. You'll fell so wonderful." well it will be a year in 5 days , july 16th, i'm down 161 lbs. ,and i feel better than wonderful. So please add me to the list darlin.

My Wife Works With A Rescue Group And Has Done Several Great Events Thru The Years. But One Thing That Works All Year Long Is To Get Curtesy Cards From Your Local Chain Supermarkets. Kroger Etc. When People Use These Cards For Purchases You Receive A Portion Of The Moneys Spent...not A Huge Percentage ,but It Adds Up. And If You Have Several Stores AND LOTS OF PEOLE ,It Works Great All Year-round. And During The Holidays It Really Does Great.

I'm From The Houston Area. Banded 7/16/07. Down 108 Lbs. My 1st Goal Was 100 Lbs. By The End Of The Year ....praise God , Goal One Is History..again Welcome.

Speaking as a man....I may not buy in on all the talking and asking for his blessings. Although he will be effected by your final choice to have the surgery. He may not like having to carry the load of family and chores during your recovery. He may not like the thought of you making a change in the family menu. He may feel you won't cook for him and the family if you can't eat i so much. He may not like the idea of your being a "babe" and how he thinks that may effect you and your daily life as wife and mom. He maybe afraid of complications......HE MAYBE AFRAID OF LOTS OF THINGS. BUT HE SHOULD BE MOST AFRAID OF LOSING YOU TO AN EARLY DEATH. Bottomline if he really ,really loves you , he will want you to to be there on his daily walk of life. Best of Luck to ya'll.

I'VE HAD 3 FILLS SINCE 7-16-07 . I WORK IN A TEACHING HOSPITAL (U OF TEXAS) AND HAVE RESIDENTS WITH AND AROUND ME ALL THE TIME. MY BANDING DOC IS ALSO PART OF THE SYSTEM. SO WHEN AND IF I NEED A FILL THEY ASK IF A RESIDENT CAN DO (TRY ) IT OR IF I PREFER THE P.A. OR DOC WILL DO IT. BUT THE P.A OR DOC IS ALWAYS PRESENT. AFTER NUMBING THEY GIVE THE RESIDENT ABOUT 2 MINS. THEN THEY STEP IN AND "NAIL IT " IN ABOUT 30 SECONDS. SOUNDS LIKE YOUR DOC MAY JUST NEED ALITTLE "TARGET PRACTICE". BUT I HATE IT :omg: YOU HAVE TO BE THE "TARGET" THEIR PRACTICING ON ! HOPE THINGS TURN AROUND FOR YA. WE ALL GET BETTER AT THIS, AS PATIENTS AND AS DOCTORS , AS WE GO ALONG.
